V2 help please

My google fu has failed me. Could somebody please show/explain how the from derailleur cable is supposed to be rigged? I see a hangar, but no pulley to turn the cable around by the BB. Am I supposed to have a floating piece of cable housing?

I don’t have one rigged up right now for a current picture but - in this panda shot from ca 2015 you can see the free piece of cable around the bottom bracket and through the hole.
There may be other newer solutions but - yeah - you pretty much have it.

Yes, I think I remember a several inch piece of clear tubing the cable rode in.
Then I thought: Heck I've got an example in the Cruzeum. Here is my First Vendetta showing how it is set up
