V20 Build complete and first ride in

Update : I have 225 miles on the V so far, adjustments pretty firmed up , accessories and initial upgrades done ( in the "what I did to my Cruzbike" thread) and I'm getting more comfortable all the time.
I have to mention that Jason's take on the Boom stabilizer spring not only makes it easier to move the bike in and out of my shop and leaning against posts and such, it also helps in maintaining a straight line while riding. It's subtle, but I notice it.

Hmmmmm are you sure you're not just wishing for such an aid and tricking yourself into a placebo effect? Theoretically, you'd need 5-10 times the preload on that spring to feel the effect while riding anything close to straight. I under normal wobbly straight riding you only turn the bars like 10 degs at most and the spring is only under like 1-3 lbs of load at most at that angle so it should be impossible to feel any effects on the steering plane which is 90 to the spring so the rated lbs would be even less. The idea I presented to Cruzbike when they ask about the whole idea(which isn't even mine to begin with) is that by giving a brand new rider a bike that won't even steer straight when you try and walk it out the garage, shop or house. That by the time they go to pedal away their subconscious is already imprinted with this doubt in the bike's stability and their own ability to balance such a machine. Now give that same rider a cruzbike with a spring that they can easily push around with one hand and with self-steer and by the time they go to pedal away they should have no misgivings to play on their mind, remember confidence is such a powerful tool when teaching a person something new.

The problem was by the time I dialed in the spring I was always very good at riding the V so I couldn't perceive what it would feel like to a fresh rider. When I removed the spring I felt no difference and it felt the same when I put the spring back on. I'll be curious to hear if you can honestly feel its effects while riding once you have a couple thousand miles under your belt. We need more cruzbike virgins to learn their first 200 miles on a spring equipped bike then hand them a non spring equipped bike and see if they feel a difference, even better would be to disable the spring without their knowledge to remove any placebo effect.

Entirely possible.... But I like in non the less ;) I just got back from a 40 mile ride and am getting smoother all the time. I really like the spring even for nothing more than not worrying about the boom flopping around. It's crowded in my 12 x 16 shop with 4 bikes and a Harley along with all my tools and work bench. So having the boom staying centered makes it easier to get it out of my shop, down the sidewalk, out the back yard gate and leaning it against the wall in my carport.....then reverse all that putting it back :)

With my order last week I also bought their strap and still see the need in that to firmly secure the front end while loading it on a rack for transport, but I like the centering spring for everyday use.
