Also, is it all carbon? Wheels look carbon also? What style sram and can you tell me the crank and cassette gear ratio? I’m 5 ‘11 so I’m assuming I can adjust?

Hi again. Sorry to hear of your surgery but hope you are recovering well ... on the road in a motorhome!

Yes, the bike is available, and the shipping option can happen if it is at your expense (as I explained to the Australia inquiry). Let me know where you would have it shipped, and I will check with my contact at the bike shop to see what options he can offer and the related costs. Look forward to hearing back from you.

Unfortunately, shipping across the water was a bit prohibitive. Still hoping to sell this weekend before the move. A reasonable offer will be considered, especially local ones!

Hi there,

How does the V20 do with road vibration through your back? Is it bone rattling or fairly decent at dampening that high-frequency chip seal vibe?

I’m interested in giving it a try. Would you be willing to accept $2000 + the shipping and packing from your LBS? I’m up here in Washington.

Thanks.

Even though it has been sold I will tell you what I have experienced Tailwinds. I have an aluminum framed cross bike that I have done a few long rides on (6-9 hours) over some relatively smooth roads that had my hands and wrists going numb from the road vibrations and my weight. Not to mention my butt hurting despite wearing good cycling shorts and taking breaks here and there. I also have a Litespeed T1 with an ISM Triathlon saddle and a triathlon cockpit with clipon aero bars with Campagnolo Bullet 50s and 25mm Conti 5000 tires. I can ride that bike hard for about 3 hours on a good day and that is it. It's fast and I love it, but afterwards I can't do anything useful.

On my V20, I have the Ventisit seat pad and a bit of foam underneath. I now have an 8omm Bullet on the rear and a 50mm Bullet on the front, both with 28mm Schwalbe Pro Ones at about 80psi. Since more of my body is being supported by the seat, since the head rest supports my head, and since there is no weight on my hands I can easily double my T1 time in the saddle without any back pain, neck pain or wrist pain. When I come off the bike I still feel fine. You can't really bunny hop, wheelie or do any of the other things you can on a DF frame to either get over an obstacle or minimize the jarring of things like pot holes or bumps. All you can do is avoid them or slow down to avoid damage or pinch flats. As long as you do those it should be way more comfortable. Every person who I have let sit on my V20 has been surprised once they have leaned back into the seat and relaxed.

Thanks for working with me L.E. you made it an easy transaction even though it involves shipping. Looking forward to keeping up with the DF guys/gals as I have a VOLAE now but it is a little small for me and I get left as soon as the grade changes to uphill even a little bit. I was really looking for a S40 but I guess I am going to opt for the "fastest bike in the world" instead.
