V20 for sale in Winston - Salem, N.C.

New in 2017 (per JLMD) 1X11 setup, Shimano XT derailleur. 48 front, 11-46 rear; Prefer local pickup. $2,600. Great bike, but prefer S40. More pics at posts from Soarfinger & JLMD.

Yes. My plan is to sell the V20 and order a new S40, however a trade might work for me.
I have a 2018/19 S40 grey with orange accents. It has the 2x front ring. I have some wooden fenders to go with it. I put new brake pads on it. It has disc brakes. Is the V20 able to take disc brakes? I have the bike in storage right now. We live in Little Rock.

I don't know the answer to your question regarding disc brakes; It's a question that I expect some of our fellow forum folks can probably answer or someone at Cruzbike.

Looking at the first pic, you can see the disc brake tabs on the rear wheel, and looking at the 2nd pic you can see the disc brake tabs on the front. My V20 is a 2018, and it came with disc brakes (post mount type, not flat mount) but since I have rim brake wheels I put rim brakes on it.

You are welcome. I have never had disc brakes on a bike except for the first week or so of having this Vendetta, so I don't know much about them, but as for the post mount type, there doesn't seem to be as many options. The flat mount type has 105, Ultegra and Dura Ace on the road bike side, and maybe a couple on the Deore side. At some point I may wind up getting a new disc brake wheel set, but for now it seems there is more of a potential headache in terms of compatibility, disc sizes, levers and brake choices due to my unfamiliarity and inexperience. It would be nice to see what you put on them if you buy it.

It would be an easy swap to add something like TRP Spyre disc brake calipers (which I think are some of the best mechanical disc calipers) to the frame and fork and use the existing rim brake levers; however, you still have t mount the discs on the wheel hubs and unless those existing rims hubs have the ability to accept the disc then the wheels would have to be changed out to ones that can accept discs. The best I can tell from the photos, those rims do not have a disc mount on the hubs.

Even cheaper mechanical disc brakes will be an improvement over almost all non-disc brakes in function. They will weigh a bit more and work a lit better. A very good investment in safety especially if/when you ride in the wet, down steep, long hills, or are thinking of upgrading wheels.

I definitely could be wrong but those look like pretty generic wheels - perfect for learning and everyday tasks - and an opportunity for upgrades once you begin going faaast.

The V20 is fast, but the 20 degree angle on the seat doesn't allow for as good of a view as the 40 degree angle on the S40. At my age, I prefer to give up speed so that I can enjoy the view.
FYI - Many S40 setups have a 1x gearing like your V20. If you trade with "MariposaLand" you should be able to swap out all those components. That is actually what I did when i got my first Vendetta I had a Silvo 2.1 and trade with a guy that had a Vendetta. He sent me his bike and I swapped everything out and sent him the Silvo with his components on it.
Good luck!

This post prompted me to take a way-back look to your first posts, Larry. Wow, you got the Silvio and within a month completed an under five hour century. A few months later switching to the Vendetta. It’s too bad the photos got dropped when the forum was updated, I’d like to see those.

Yeah Mathew - seems like a lifetime ago. But it will only be 6 years this June when I go the Silvio. I do remember that first sub 5-hr Century and a ton of testing when I had both bikes in Oct for a week. I even remember barely eking out a sub 4-hr 40k on that Silvio. haha. I thought that was such a great accomplishment, but little did I know I would be able to do 100 miles in under an hour about a year later on my Vendetta for my WUCA Road Record in Lumberton. Jim & Maria helped me with that one! Thanks for the walk down memory lane!

Is that a typo? Or were you behind a truck?
'cause I heard that V20's were fast but that's incredible!
