I have a 2018/19 S40 grey with orange accents. It has the 2x front ring. I have some wooden fenders to go with it. I put new brake pads on it. It has disc brakes. Is the V20 able to take disc brakes? I have the bike in storage right now. We live in Little Rock.Yes. My plan is to sell the V20 and order a new S40, however a trade might work for me.
Looking at the first pic, you can see the disc brake tabs on the rear wheel, and looking at the 2nd pic you can see the disc brake tabs on the front. My V20 is a 2018, and it came with disc brakes (post mount type, not flat mount) but since I have rim brake wheels I put rim brakes on it.I have a 2018/19 S40 grey with orange accents. Don’t you prefer the S40? You sold me on the S40over the V20.Would you be interested in trading for an S40?
FYI - Many S40 setups have a 1x gearing like your V20. If you trade with "MariposaLand" you should be able to swap out all those components. That is actually what I did when i got my first Vendetta I had a Silvo 2.1 and trade with a guy that had a Vendetta. He sent me his bike and I swapped everything out and sent him the Silvo with his components on it.The V20 is fast, but the 20 degree angle on the seat doesn't allow for as good of a view as the 40 degree angle on the S40. At my age, I prefer to give up speed so that I can enjoy the view.
This post prompted me to take a way-back look to your first posts, Larry. Wow, you got the Silvio and within a month completed an under five hour century. A few months later switching to the Vendetta. It’s too bad the photos got dropped when the forum was updated, I’d like to see those.FYI - Many S40 setups have a 1x gearing like your V20. Good luck!
Yeah Mathew - seems like a lifetime ago. But it will only be 6 years this June when I go the Silvio. I do remember that first sub 5-hr Century and a ton of testing when I had both bikes in Oct for a week. I even remember barely eking out a sub 4-hr 40k on that Silvio. haha. I thought that was such a great accomplishment, but little did I know I would be able to do 100 miles in under an hour about a year later on my Vendetta for my WUCA Road Record in Lumberton. Jim & Maria helped me with that one! Thanks for the walk down memory lane! This post prompted me to take a way-back look to your first posts, Larry. Yeah - that was a typo - corrected now - Yeah V20's are fast - but not that fast!"I would be able to do 100 miles in under an hour"
Is that a typo? Or were you behind a truck?
'cause I heard that V20's were fast but that's incredible!
