V20 Newbie

Hi All,
Just put together the Vendetta and would like to ask a question about the under seat mounted water bottle holders from Cruzbike. Saw a few posts on the forum but wanted to get clearer answer. From what I can see the cages won't bolt to the underside of the seat and clear the frame. I saw some discussion about using some offsets/spacers to get the cages away from the seat and allow them to clear the frame. Is this what everyone is doing? Am I looking at the problem all wrong? Thanks alot for any help.

I'll probably be back for a bit of help with the shifting and braking adjustments. Looks like I might be off on those two items but plan to check Youtube for guidance.

Regards,
Mark

Btw, I wanted to also mention that my dealings with Robert and Maria at Cruzbike were very positive. They were both very helpful through the purchase process and Robert especially bent over backwards to help me get a Vendetta. Special thanks to Abbott Smith for letting a clumsy newbie try out his V. I'm sure he was on pins/needles as I careened around the parking lot. Now I'll hopefully be able to learn to ride it. It is a very good looking bike when you see it in person. Pictures and videos on line don't really do it justice.

Congratulations mark. Great bike take your time learning.

Re bottle mounts I don’t have the cruzbike holders but did fit lezynes albeit with spacers to step the holder away from seat. Flat washers between seat and holder. Now under the seat I use aero bottles like ratz and mount my mini track pump .There is a wealth of info under hydration or cargo searches.

Re shifting and braking adjustment everything is on utube several times over.

If you’ve gone for a compact chainset 50 - 34 you may struggle achieving front mech spec but operation will be fine. Besides with such a speed machine a 52 or 53 makes a statement. Lol.

Enjoy be safe. You are spot on about cruzbike team.

You can use spacers, or you can drill some holes further up the seat and the cages fit without any spacers. IME though these are a faff to reach, what is far better is the attachment that fits to the rear of the headrest which fits two water bottles and you can still keep the bottles behind the seat to store water or other stuff that fits in a water bottle.
