Hi,
Its been smokey(poor air quality) in my area so I have not ridden at all. Started working on a storage box. Made a cardboard mock-up for fit-check.1st version will be made of 3mm occumee frames and fiberglass. Just need to find some micro latches for the door. Any comments/suggestions always welcome.

Nice. I might recommend making it boat-shaped. This probably has similar aerodynamic penalties as the Sling Pack. I’m reminded of Jason’s plan, I wonder what came of it.

Thanks. Yeah, thinking Cda would not be very good with this. Started off with the idea of maximum volume because I carry a lot of stuff(multi-tool, 2 tubes, 4 co2 cylinders, etc). I’ll see how a wedge looks. Maybe decrease the front to a 3” width. For the curve in front I could use a NACA foil. I believe 0010 is popular for rudders. I’ll poke around the NACAtables a bit. Thanks again for the encouragement.

You might want to consider a bag behind the seat. It just slips over the seat pad and done! It carries a lot and allegedly improves airflow. :) I can carry all my tools, phone, wallet, snacks, plus a whole lunch there if I need to. Downside - a little heavier and more costly.

Thanks. Actually trying not to add a bag behind the seat at this point. Maybe in the future. Yes, I like the cork too. Cheers.

Earlier when trying to clean up the air flow under the seat and around the weathered Moose pack that was sagging on my V20 I cut and installed a thin triangular shaped vinyl sheet with velcro.

I didn't have MyWindSock then so I can't say if or how much it helped. I later trimmed it more down to the QR lever but I was thinking that trimming it even smaller to only cover the Moose pack and that tiny rear triangle but never did. I was thinking though that Monokoting that same area would be lighter, and might be more aero, but I don't know if it would be durable enough to handle the Moose pack pushing against it.

Which bag is that?
Might it fit an s40?
Did you modify it to get it to not sag? To add lights and reflectors?

Photo stolen from the CRUZBIKE Recumbent Riders page on Facebook. It looks pretty effective.

This thread is pleasantly filled with my kind of CAD (Cardboard Aided Design) and LVOTKs (Large Volume Of Tape Kludge).

I am the second owner of this bike. The bag says it's Radical Design. It fits perfectly over the Ventisit/Thor seat. I don't see any visible modification of the bag. It should fit on S40 if you use Thor seat with Ventisit pad.

I also attached the light mount picture. It holds the Cycliq camera and Garmin Varia. It's a combination of bolts, Home Depot paint stick, Styrofoam, and the two specific mounts. :) I made this one.

Hi,
Still some minor finish work to do. Used a scaled NACA FX77W-121airfoil for the front end of the storage box(3” wide at the front/5” at the back). Attaches to the brake stanchion at the back and a Velcro strap is used at the front. Weighs 318 g.

Thanks. Will consider a rear storage bag in the future. Maybe a Rixen & Kaul Contour Magnum Saddle Bag. Will need to make some type of bracket to adapt it to the V. Cheers.

More here. Those of a nervous disposition are likely to get PTSD from this ugly unsophisticated kludge. Look away now.

The thieves can have it. They did me a service. S40 has the official rack. S40 is a better bike. I just wish I had thought of selling the Silvio.
