Vendetta CycloSportif

The Vendetta prototypes are both welded. One has completed T6 and the other is waiting to cook at T4 before then cooking at T6.

Are there clubs such as this around the place? This one's in Perth, Western Australia. There are a few people here considering forming a Vendetta CycloSportif team. If a team wants to go ahead, Cruzbike will make special arrangements to provide the framesets to team members.

Hi John,
I assume T4 and T6 are part of some normalizing/stress relieving heat treatment process?

There would appear to be other associations of this nature. We have Bicycle Queensland over here and I am also member of the BBTA. Both organizations represent different aspects of cycling. Maybe they don't have the same emphasis on "training", but they certainly promote cycling.

Are these guys competing for something? Against whom? (I imagine they won't be allowed to compete against DF riders?)
I'm just trying to work out if I can form a team!

I think from the documentation on the web site they are inclusive and it is a time based competition. They say on equipment that all must be on the same kind of bike. We'll approach them and will soon know.

Guess I must have been living under a rock not to know of the West Australian Boom. :D

The main thing is that I hope this works in your favor Johntolhurst. This has got to be a rush to see this happening.

Hi John,

Very excited to learn that there will a TT Cruzbike available. Since asking the question a few weeks ago about my Allsop beamed Cougar I have picked up a Y26 and am picking up the conversion kit this week. My medium to long term plan was to graduate to the Silvio and ride the ATTA time trials on it, but now I've heard about the Vendetta, that sounds perfect. As far as the Sportifs go there are only a couple left this season so it would be logical to look at putting together a Sportif team together for next season. The first sportif of the season is usually the Freeway ride (Sun Mar 21 2010) and certainly a team of riders pace-lining on Vendettas would be a sight to behold! I've been riding with another team this season, but I for one would certainly be in!!

Ahmen, we'd need photos of that!! :) That would be fantastic!!

I still haven't quite figured the philosophy of CycloSportif (read the PDF article from end to end), but it certainly sounds positive. I like the "team stays together" idea. Very sociable/civil. We need more "civility" in the world!
Hope John T finds out if recumbents will be allowed to "compete" against DF bikes, soon.

I crossed paths today with Professor Rob Newton, head of the Vario Health Institute at Edith Cowan University, Perth.

Rob agreed to provide each team member with a performance assessment. So we have our first team sponsor. We'll want to include the Vario logo on our team jerseys.

Rob is professor of exercise science at the newly equiped $4m facility. http://www.variowellness.org/staff/robert-newton.php
