Vendetta Low Racer

Hi all,

I was watching a post on the Classifieds and it looked like the potential buyer wants a Vendetta Low Racer...

After thinking about it, I think it might be interesting to see a Vendetta with 20 inch wheels...

Has anyone ever tried this before?

Blessings,

thats the spirit..... keep up the chatter......

i was able to find where someone put a pair of 20's on a vendetta, but did not change the front fork or anything else. i think the person said it was fun but maybe slower.

i put a 406 on the front of my t 50 and it was a blast. it was like a schwinn sting ray.

from my experiments, omn the v 20 the key issues will be a shorter fork to take either a 451 or a 406, shorter stays to accommodate the shorter fork and maintain a similar crank set seat relationship, and then on the rear, playing around with different sized wheels to see how it all feels. i think double small would travel well, and would maintain steering and seat geometry.

running a 700c in back will change seat angle up from 20, and also change head tube angle angle. trail may not change much because of different wheel size. i think it may make the steering too twitchy. but, i think there is room in back for some easy mods, and you could always run something smaller but still larger than a 406/451.

this is one of my two CB specific current projects. the problem for me is that i don't really want to tear my v20 apart to finish the project while i have rides coming up this summer.

the other project is a v20 low racer fixed rear delta trike. think like frankentrike but instead a v20 up front.

i actually think i can make a convertible that would do both trike and bike.

so if anyone wants to donate to me a v20 frameset or two, i will have one ready by the michigan ride.....

I think 20 inch front and rear might just be pretty cool...
I'd sure love to see what it would look like...

I might steal the rear wheel off my wife's Catrike Villager to test it on the front...
I'll need another 20 for the back though...

Hmmm...

Blessings all,

well, like i said, 406/406 would travel well. but it might be plus minus on several other issues.
i have liked the big rear wheel and small front, but there are a lot of options.

here is a picture of my tica and frankentrike that are both big rear 700c small 451 front.

Would asking you how many human powered bi/tri-kes you have be akin to asking a woman who has had more than one 29th birthday what their age is? And equally dangerous?

As I say to my wife in honest response to her enquiries on the number of objects within any of my core avocations:

Several

tonight I finished the rebuild of her 30 year old Schwinn mountain bike. Last year I moved her off of the bike when the thumb shifter finally broke to the point of no returning put her on my similarly aged but splendid bianchi. She never liked it because it was not “hers” and she didn’t like the saddle or the pedals, etc.

Benphyr, I think it's like asking how many pairs of shoes she has...

My wife asks why I "need" so many bikes/trikes, when I can only ride one at a time... I return with this question, "why do you need so many pairs of shoes, when you only have 2 feet?"...
