Mrs Ratz found this tonight.

If that doesn't just make you want to mount an iphone on your handle bars pointed it forward and to the side at 45 degrees and then just ride and ride, then you probably don't ride with a camera..

Bike porn from the wife. Yup I married well.

I love it - but no

I love it - but no Android?

That is so cool a 4 hour bike ride in 30 seconds or so, and you never miss the bear.

I wonder when Rideye comes out (it ever), there could be an app to do something like without having to do a bunch of video editing?

...and yes you did, Lady Ratz rides a Silvio!!

Interestingly the video

Interestingly the video doesn't contain any "doorings" (also a feature of biking in melbourne in the non-separated "bike lanes" painted on so many of the streets.) But many memories watching it, so many routes just work naturally with a bike in the city.

Taken with Hyperlapse

I did this with hyperlapse - but when I processed it using Hyperlapse I thought it was too fast and it had some garbage before and after while I got the camera set.
So I edited and slowed it down with iMovie and then uploaded to YouTube.

All of those translations made it look jaggy and darker and less smooth.

But - I've been trying to get a cool shot/angle/take of the business end of a Cruzbike for a long time.
Still have some ways to go for it to look right but this is worthy of posting.

Riding in the woods

Shot this on my solo century today. Need to figure out how to get it the legs out of the shot, but it was fun and easy. Before any one snarks at me. I brake stand every stop sign at a complete stop. The video does however make it look like I blew threw every one of them.

It was so bright outside and I hadn't played with the software at all; I'm just now realizing I could have used slower or faster speeds. Definitely something fun to play with going forward.

Edited: Added Link to video that actually works.

Mounting wtih...

Hi Chris,

We switched over to using LifeProof Cases. Specially went with them because the cases all lock into the same bracket for the Bike, Arm, and Car mounts. All three mounts work great. It's a bit pricey but once we got everyone in the family on the same system it works well; 4 phones, 3 cars, several bikes and multiple runners in the family; it solve the case compatibility problem. Although we won't be upgrade to iphone6's anytime soon we'd need all new stuff.

Then to get the phone high enough to film forward I've got one of these mounted on the handle bars:

To shoot sideways shots we are going to use the Running armband.

Okay, here is my hyperlapse

Okay, here is my hyperlapse video using my GoPro2. The ordinal footage looks so much better, YouTube turned my hyperlapse into hypercrapz.

Rick,
what software did you use to post-treat your original GoPro video?
Something in Windows or Android?

Bob, when I was just watching

Bob, when I was just watching last third of the video, it made me think of your shadow episode a couple of weeks - man he's fast!

I've thought about...

I've thought about setting up a camera to capture this angle before - you did it a great service.
Love it - the timelapse is pretty amazing too.

One thing I've noticed about timelapses and cranking the pedals on bikes - they don't really go too well together.
Some treatment to the pumping of the legs is certainly in order - otherwise it's just too spastic.

The rest is fantastic tho!!

I agree Lief. Maybe get a nice real steep downhill and pedaling won't be necessary or edit out all pedaling.
