Want to buy

Hi,
I am new to recumbent. Looks like you guys have a lot of fun. I am getting itchy everyday. Really want to have a taste with a low cost bike.
Does anyone want to sell any model for around $500? Does not matter if it is very old or took a beat.
I am close to DC. I will pick up from within 200 miles.
Thanks,
Cheng

Jim,
Thanks for pointing out that post!
That is for a sofrider. From the picture, it looks like more reclined than I feel confident to ride. Unfortunately there is no spec sheets anymore to read the details.

PS, I am totally new to recumbent. Watched some videos on the tube, probably made by some of the members here. I learned that Cruzbike is fun to ride, but takes some effort to learn. I will look back at the sofrider if there is no other options.

The seat on the Sofrider is adjustable. Raising the post in the back will change the seat angle to something more upright. The Sofrider is a predecessor to the Q45. These bikes, along with the T50 are the entry points for the Cruzbike line and are easy to ride. This is a good bike for a beginner.

You can find a nice review of the Sofrider with specifications and photos here:

Likewise, an online search will yield many results for the Sofrider. You may also find some instruction/assembly manuals. They are out there. You can also ask for help on the forums here.

You should know that if you're interested in a used Cruzbike and you see one in your price range, it's best to move quickly. There aren't many Cruzbikes that come up at around $500 and when they do there's no guarantee that they'll be near where you live. The $500 Softrider in NYC is probably about as ideal a situation you're likely to find near DC.

Good luck on your hunt and I hope you get to spend the summer riding a recumbent.
