Water bottles on S40?

Bought a S40 Gen 6 short after release. Struggled with a solution mounting bottles (and didn’t like the look of what Cruzbike sells that attach behind the seat). Have one bottle mount near the handle bars (under the steering tube), but wanted at least one more.

Purchased a set of Cruzbike bottle holders and bolted them under the seat (see pictures), using holes already in seat back. Easily holds 22 oz. Camelbak bottles. Stock seat cushion and after-market (see pictures) work great; made sure to have the bolts pointing down so I didn’t feel them through the cushions.

I fabricated (really easy, just a couple of pieces of aluminum) a couple of mounting brackets and attached to the rack mounting points. Here’s a photo:

I prefer to have “liquid on tap” in that I hate a dry mouth when I’m cycling. I use a Camelbak hung on the headrest tubes and add a second strap around the seat back underneath the cushion pad. I have a small diameter bungee attached to the end of the tube so I always have it to hand. I can always add ice cubes to the bladder when it’s really hot. - Works well for me over the last 18 months.
