The ride went very smoothly. I covered 93 miles the first day and just under 75 the second day. Everything went very smoothly. Longest day ride for me, especially considering the 4100+ feet of climbing on day 1, and definitely most miles in 2 days on an unassisted bike (I've done 180 miles in one very long day on my electric Sofrider). During the ride I spotted 2 other recumbents, one other Silvio, a Quest, and a very fancy carbon Bachetta. I think it's interesting to note that 3/4 of the recumbents I saw on the ride were Cruzbikes .
On hydration and nutrition: I brought along food for the day as recommended, but I really don't like gel food or energy bars, so I brought banana pancakes, an apple, trail mix, and some bean salad. It was recommended to eat every two hours, but my stomach didn't really want anything to do with food while riding, so on the second day I just had breakfast and lunch, with some fruit in between. The bean salad and trail mix did not seem like such good ideas. If I did it again, I would stick to pretty much just fruit, and maybe 2-3 pancakes. It never really got hot, riding along the ocean on day 1, and doing almost all the riding before noon on day 2, so I drank about 1.5 liters while riding each day. I've never done a supported ride before, and if I did it again, I would skip the bags, and just bring along about a liter of water, or 1.5 to 2 if it was a lot hotter, and maybe a piece of fruit or two.
I took pictures on day 1, but current phone has terrible battery life, so didn't get any pictures of the ride on day 2. Please excuse my legs being in the way of about half the pictures.
