Weight limit for Cruzbike's?

Hello all!
I don't know if this is addressed in the spec's of the Cruzbike on their website but I have not been able to find it.
The question is:
Is there a weight limit for the rider on Cruzbike's? I know other brand's list weight limits for their riders (i.e. - Bacchetta). Unless I have missed the or just overlooked
this spec when I look through the Cruzbike information on their website for specific bike's (i.e. - S40, T45).
Anyway if you have an answer for the question I would appreciate it.

Cruzbike has a "who needs a test ride" page, with height and weight ranges: https://cruzbike.com/blogs/blog/don-t-try-it-just-buy-it. You'll need to scroll down the page a bit to find the charts. It seems to be intended more for overall fit (height plus weight), rather than "what's the maximum weight capacity of the bike."

There may also be some posts in the forums addressing rider weight, if you haven't already searched here.

I you can see there are weights listed up to 243 lbs . As mentioned it is really more based on the height of the person and not intended to be a max weight for the Bike. In my experience max weight on bikes is more related to what kind of wheels and tires are on it. The bike frame itself is incredibly strong - the weak link will almost always be the wheels and tires. A heavier person will need a strong wheel - thicker and more spokes and a wider tire too.

My fellow clydesdale rider.... I'm 6' 5", and 256 lbs. I bought my S40 from a dealer less skilled in recumbents and I started at closer to 280lbs. The s40 had no problem with my size / weight although I expect Jim and Maria (the company owners) wouldn't encourage it. I rode it pretty hard for 1 year and I still use it now as my Zwift trainer. I bought the v20 this year from Larry Oslund....and he fit me MUCH better on both the S40 and the V20 than the less skilled dealer. I'd encourage you to consider working with a someone like Larry (No, he's not paying me.) If you are near the MD area, I'd be happy to help you fit / try it out. BTW - the v20 is as fast as advertised. For you and me -- long hills are still a challenge perhaps, but that's because watts/kg still matter on long climbs. I'd encourage you to go for it....but consider being fit by someone who knows!

Just to add an anecdotal data point, at one horrible time in my life, my weight skyrocketed to 270 lbs. At the time I was riding a V20 and was able to ride long distances without any issues. Later, when I was back down to 220, I configured the V20 to tour with a full load. I had a trailer and large Radical Designs banana panniers.



I did a 70 mile trip. Camped out, and rode back home. The bike wobbled like it was made out of spaghetti. At that point, I decided to purchase the S40 for touring.
