What should I upgrade into

Hi all,

I've got my T50 in January 2019 and rode it most of the time, it was even able to relegate my chromoly road bike that was my main bike and was the most used one before I bought T50, as it is comfortable.

But now it has been unused for 1-2 months. It is faster than T50 for short distances, but after 20 km, T50 is much more comfortable and you can just concentrate pedalling rather than trying to hold the body pain.

That said, I've been biten by the bug and suffered upgraditis and have been looking to upgrade.

I mainly use T50 as a commuter and shopper (25 km every weekday) and like to do some rides on the weekend, (20-70 km). and although it's kinda down the list, I think I need to have some speed and be more lightweight.

As I think Q45 would just be like my T50 and I don't go packing and touring so much, Q45 is out for now.

So the option is Vendetta vs Silvio. All the things I like point out to Silvio, but is Vendetta really out? I like to carry things while cycling, as I also shop and need to carry stuff, but I also like to have a bit of speed.

That said, there is a 2000 AUD velokraft VKII here in Melbourne which I also am considering.

What do you think I should consider and buy? as I'm in Sydney

I would contact Jond, who lives north of Newcastle, out in the sticks, and by his descriptions of his local roads, you would need to have or hire a 4WD to reach him!

He has a Vendetta, he might let you ride to see what you think of it!
He used two Radical Design Racer narrow bags(25L for two) when riding across the Nullabour!

The Silvio S40 has all the rack mounting points and can take 700c*38 tyres, so suspension in the tyres, and can handle a bit of gravel easily!
If riding on suburban roads OR rough country roads, I would go for the S40 over the V20 as the view of the pot holes is SO much better!

It is possible to carry on the V banana bags as Slim mentioned are very nice but expensive. I have used 2 dry bags hung over the seat. The only issue is I needed to disconnect them completely to get in and out

Not the velokraft. Though it was and is a beautiful machine that is now outdated and unsupported like a few other brands. Hey Even poit rides wheels on his lizards the same size.

You can add banana racer to the seat on a vendetta they just hang off and are easily simply removed .

But the s40 seems to me as the versatile do anything bike and fast to be the area you should look at.

The vendetta is focused on speed and best left undressed in all her glory .

I’m in Newcastle port Stephens you’re welcome to view/ride as is but large chainstay need to be tall .

You won’t crash my bike unlike slim whom ungainly did . Slim being south Australian rubs up against cyclone fences whenever he can. He also loves to lick electric fences for support of the red bulldusting that is ionised within his ears.

Your eyesight is worse than I thought!
It must be due all the floods leaving s**t in your eyes!!!
OR is it due to drinking all that poor quality, Hunter Valley wines, that has picked your NSW brain????

I did NOT crash, only stop, and gentle lowering the bike using my right knee as a prop, to stop the derailleur touching the ground, due to being a SHIMANO supporter, and not having used a SRAM , I could not find a lower gear!

Lol slim it was not surely as graceful as that. You being a heavy south Aussie ballerina supporter and all. I thank you for putting the knee in.

Yes my eyesight is waning these days but not my one eyed support of everything nsw well almost everything. We can’t abide south Aussie refugees no more.

Hey Jond,

Drool.... that looks wicked. Is that the woodchipper bar and the standard stock seat?

You have an eye patch over your bad eye, and Rose coloured glasses over the good eye!!!

No wonder you cannot see any of the millions of pot holes on your local roads!
You live in a Labor electorate, with a Liberal State government, so LOW priority to fix roads!

The high flying, fast moving, AFL Australian Football League, on a 170 m long field, instead of a 35 m Rugby Union field(as the big legged guys, with NO neck, and suffering from too may headbutts cannot run any further!!!!)

In nsw we have actual services including eye glasses to prescription. So popular is nsw we have smaller footy fields to accomodate housing. Unlike the ever diminishing population of South Australia the ghost town state where all young people with brains leave their dust brained compatriots to head east. AFL is for Nancy boys fifty people per side. South Australia has two teams that’s 25% of your population that don’t have the shakes or drool .

Having no neck is better than having two heads with your renowned southern hospitality inbred secrets. Can you hear banjos at night.

Yes my roads are a council responsibility not state government or federal but one day you will see bitumen clear water and men from a wider gene pool.

As ever David this is awesome

I assumed you brought your rose coloured mono glasses out from England, on a convict ship!!!!

The land is SO expensive in Sydney compared to Adelaide, and a small rectangular field is easier to organise the chained prisoner spectators!!!

Adelaide is on the flat plains, so lots of easy intermingling of the suburbs, via fast STRAIGHT unclogged roads!
I think you are thinking of the West coast of Tasmania, where travel between valleys is nearly impossible, so lots of inbreeding!!!

Adelaide still has 1.3 million and a 0.7% growth from last year, so LOTS of pool for great aerobatic AFL players!
