What was your last motorbike?

A casual observation says many bent riders have a motorcycle or two in their past.

Here's my last one, from 1990. Wow, what a bike. It just ran like a sewing machine. After I got really used to it I could make clutchless changes up and down. If anyone at the light tried to take you on, you would just match their pace and when they down shifted, open up the throttle and a second later you would be five car lengths ahead. Wonderful answer to London's traffic and trains, which is where I was at the time.

This one. Ducati Multistrada 1200. Not my last motorcycle but my current one. I ride it 200km every day. Comfortable, safe (TCS and ABS), full suspension control on the fly and 100 or 150HP at the push of a button.

My Last Motorcycle

The last one I owned was a 1992 Honda CBR 900RR.

The first one I owned was a 1968 Norton Commando 850 Interstate.

The most fun bike was the shop Yamaha 400 Daytona.

The only car that ever even tried to give me some competition was
an 850 Fiat!
The talented driver of that little mid-engined car kept me in sight on the curvy,
coastal U.S. Highway 1, in Californias' Big Sur.
I was riding a 4-stroke 500cc Yamaha single-cylinder bike which
was well-suited to that road: high cornering speed.

All my club-racer friends were much faster than I ever was.
However, I was always much faster than most street riders were...
and cars?
Well, cars were always nothing more than traffic cones to me!

TimOZ, that is one hugely,

TimOZ, that is one hugely, hugely capable unit.

yakmurph, your CBR 900RR would have been a big step up from the 600. I like the traffic cones analogy, as there is the sensation they are stopped and you are moving through them. Eventually you sort of think yourself from one position to the next, sort of like leap-frogging.

I'm sure there are lot more bikers and ex-bikers of the motor kind out there.
