wheels: unwise to go with 20/24 spoke wheel set?

I'm planning on building a Silvio 2.0 by stripping a donor bike for components. Most wheel sets I see only have 24 spokes these days but the ?Cruzbike 700c Aero 67s come with 28, probably for good reason.

Will it be safe to go with 24 spokes? I weigh about 157 lbs.

I would be surprised if someone of your weight had any problems with a well built wheel with 24 spokes. That being said, if you're paying a lot for the wheel, I'd go with the higher spoke count.

24 spokes?

I've used Rolf wheels for years, on my DF bikes as well as my Cruzbikes. They're 16 spoke on the drive wheel and 14 on the non-drive.I've had no problems at all. I weight 140 lbs. and now ride a Vendetta and Silvio.
