Hey guys, where has Lisa / thebean gone to? She was so excited about Silvio 2, worried about the seat angle, but last I remember she was going to test ride one...

Lisa where are you and what are you up to?

Hi Everyone!
Gosh so nice of

Hi Everyone!

Gosh so nice of all of you to ask! The last six months have been the most challenging of my life but adversity truly strengthens us! A divorce, and in the midst of buying a new home to make a fresh start at 52! I am excited for my new adventure!

I have still been riding when I can, which has been far less frequent. When I was in Florida in October as the divorce was in progress, I was too exhausted to go to Vite Bikes and try the 2.0 :(... I really want to get this bike but will need to sell of some bikes as finances with the new home are very tight.

The Silvio is still without question my favorite ride. If anyone has purchased a 2.0 and want to perhaps sell it to me let me know!

Thank you again for inquiring about me...gosh that means a lot!

Lisa :)

Cool, thebean is back! Sorry

Cool, thebean is back! Sorry to hear about the struggles but glad to hear that same Lisa enthusiasm for life.

When you do get to try out a 2.x Silvio, I am quite curious to find out what you think of it and how your neck/back does with the current recline.

Eric,
Funny you should

Eric,

Funny you should mention this. I had an in depth discussion with Nanda today. He has been able to acquire fiberglass and carbon seats to adapt to the Silvio 2.0. He feels the angle is much more comfortable. I am anxious to try them out! Also, there are some ideas floating around about how to increase the seat angle. I know John at Vite Bikes has some ideas, so this is a good opportunity to network to see what other shops are doing. I think seats can be a deal breaker. I sometimes wish I could adapt my Euromesh seat to any bike I wanted. It's just a great fit for me and so comfortable.

Nanda's Flickr photostream

Nanda's Flickr photostream has several photos of some of his brainstorming. The hardshell he was playing with looks pretty good except for the curved up lip at the leading edge of the seat base.

I think short riders like you and me

, because of where the bottom bracket ends up in relation to your hips and feet will have that edge digging into the backs of your thighs/butt.

You can see what I'm talking about pretty good in Nanda's photos, especially the first one. Visualize yourself sitting in the seat with your leg extended out to the bottom of the pedal stroke and then think about where that curved up lip on the seat is going to be on your body.

Lisa, good to hear that you

Lisa, good to hear that you are not only alive and kicking, but your joie de vivre is alive and well amidst adversity. May you continue to find much joy and renewal in this new adventure, and I hope the opportunity will come to do that on the S2that you have been eyeing for so long! Wise financial considerations permitting of course!

I will be visiting with Nanda

I will be visiting with Nanda in May and test riding a lot of bikes! Ohmyyy a candy store indeed! Have to work out a cat enclosure which is a priority and then the bike. I like the looks of Nanda's seat despite that odd curve which I think a good euromesh seat pad would take care of. it would be so cool if the Euromesh seat could be adapted. It's such a great seat!

I am liking what my final inventory of bikes will be: Silvio 2.1, Ti Aero, Rans Vivo, and two Bike Fridays.

I will be curious to see the Quests as a folder and potential replacement for the BFs.

Excited for my test rides and reports of course. And yes, I will be getting on a Vendetta!

I'm anxious to hear your May

I'm anxious to hear your May report on the alternative comfort seats and higher seat angle for the Silvio. My Quest 2 is a great "jack of all trades" Cruzbike, but I hope to evolve into a "luxury" Silvio. I'm hoping version 3 might incorporate a comfort seat with adaptable seat angle to 37 degrees and a fork that accepts an IGH.
