I will be ordering my Silvio pretty soon, and am looking for suggestions regarding the best handlebar fit. I need a wide bar, as I typically hit the brakes/bar with standard bars.
For instance, I am rehabbing a 2002 P-38 and had to ask the folks at Lightning to send out a custom longer bar as the standard was way too narrow.
I have been searching the Archives, and have seen a few referenced: WTB Bar, Gary Origin and the Salsa Woodchopper. I am leaning towards the 60cm WTB Bar because it seems to be the widest one available. However, I also saw a 2008 posting from John saying the following:
John: "The WTB bars go out, straight forward (90deg), and then splay out on the drop, where as the origin 8 goes out, then forward AND out (75deg bend or so). So while the ends are pretty well as wide as each other, the O8 might have slightly more leg room.
Just my feeling after seeing and handling both, I do not have both here right now for a direct comparison."
For those who have found wider handlebars....which one is the widest? As John noted in that posting....due to flare angle, is the Gary Origin wider? And, what bar does the Silvio come with? Are there options in widths for the bar that comes with the Silvio?
