Will 2 Quests fold to fit inside a SUV?

I have an '09 Nissan Murano. Wondering if anyone travels with a pair of Quests inside their SUV. I don't want the bikes to get stolen.

Quest packed dimensions

Hi Jack,
30 x 10 1/2 x 21" is the box external dimensions.

Packing down yourself later might not get this compact, but I think both would easily go in a small SUV.

Thanks John. That's great

Thanks John. That's great when we take longer trips out of state and packing completely down is necessary.
Do you think two 26" Quests would fit without a complete pack down? In other words, if we're just going for a quick ride that requires a short drive by SUV to a park with a bike trail, is there a minimal pack (quick fold) that would work -something that would require minimal time for take down and assembly? Thanks.

depends how its done

Hi Romagjack,

The Quest folds in stages, its possible that not all the folding would be needed, but without knowing the internal dimensions, or without doing tests your question is slightly impossible to answer. Will you be dropping the rear seats?

Thanks John,
Yes, I could put

Thanks John,

Yes, I could put the rear seats down. I have approximately 28"H x 43"W x 60" L.

Thanks for your input.

Here is a Quest 559 in the back of an older Toyota Corolla, with the rear wheel removed, swingarm folded under and steering boom released. Took about 3 minutes to sort this out, and it was tool free, just loosening quick releases and the seat knobs :)

Anyone tried to put a Quest 559 in a suitcase?

Would it fit in the Samsonite case or would I need something bigger.
Thanks.

I'd rather have a bick rack

I'd rather have a bick rack on my roof of on my tailgate rather than stocking two bikes on my compartment. But I think two bikes can fit if you manage to take off the wheels and manage the remaining space for the frame and other bike components.

yeah the best thing to do is

yeah the best thing to do is to put a rack on the roof instead of consolidating much of the bicycles inside the compartment. Nevertheless if you can manage to put all those two in a compact manner you can basically fit everthing without spending much on bike racks.

I dont mind bikes on a rack

I dont mind bikes on a rack on the back of my car for short journeys round town, but for longer travels down the freeway I like to get them conveniently inside the car if I can. I feel more confident of everything that way.

Folding a Quest 3.0 to fit into a car

On June 29 2011 John Tolhurst said: "The Quest folds in stages".

Are there any pictures or videos available that can show how to quickly fold a Quest 3.0 so I can put it in my car for a short trip (without completely folding it up for a suitcase)?
