Wow, Jason. Now I'm wondering how you ever made it through school?
I guess I'm lucky to know you. I can't do half the your performance with twice the training.

I was the guy that sat at the back of the classroom all the way in the corner playing video games on his hand held while listening to the lecture. The teachers would grade tests on a curve and to keep certain kids from failing the curve would be offset so my perfect scores on the test would net me extra credit so I’d have to do less homework to still maintain a 4.0 GPA. My motto was to do the bare minimum to get the A and honestly it gave me a very bad impression of the public school system for it’s extremely lax standards. I love knowledge and I love learning but I hate school and it’s flawed structuring.

In other news I finally have a more permanent housing situation as of tomorrow so hopefully I can get the vendetta down here with me and set up on the trainer. Then I’ll start seriously considering joining you guys and your TT efforts

Glad to hear it on both counts. You need a permanent home and you need to inspire us on the TT effort. @trplay we need you too.

Week 2 results. Sorry for the delay - I forgot how daunting preparing for a 24-hour attempt was. I truly believe it is more work planning and packing than the actual riding. No wonder Jim likes Centuries better! Go Jim.

Last week Larry and I had a problem with the 2Laps-Watopia segment on Zwift. I see that someone created another segment called Cruzbike Volcano Flats 2X TT. Is there a landmark for the start/end of that segment? Is it the high-rise building on the right-hand side of the road?

I am sorry this is so ugly - It look great when I am formatting it, but when I save it, it zaps all the spacing out. I am sure there is a solution, but I am tired of mucking with it. :(

Cruzbike Volcano Flats 2X TT
Hi @LarryOz
There has been talk about this CB Volcano Flats TT circuit. I have not had a problem with our original 2 laps-watopia. I would like to make sure we're being graded on what we think we are graded on. Are we switching to the CB segment?

Ken,
We should use the original segment that we rode in week0 & week1. I applied the wrong segment to you but have corrected it.
I am not sure who created the Cruzbike segment for 2lap Watopia and do not care who uses it, but be warned it starts a good ways back from the "Arch" so if you are not ready for it your time will not be very good.

The problem I had with 2Laps-Watopia is that sometimes Zwift starts the segment on the second lap (that was the case for Weeks 0 and 1), but other times Zwift starts it on the first lap (Week 2). I was using the first lap as a warmup, so my Week 2 time for that segment was 10 minutes slower. I contacted Zwift support about this, but could never get them to grok the problem, so I gave up on them. But it seems that it isn't possible for them to record multiple instances of a segment if the segments overlap, which they do in this case because the segment is two loops. So I just used Cruzbike Volcano Flats 2X TT for Week 3. I did a warm-up lap, ended the warm-up ride, then re-started Zwift for the TT ride. Cruzbike Volcano Flats 2X TT is the same distance as 2Laps-Watopia. It just starts and ends a little later, providing enough runway to get the same flying start. Last week I stopped pedaling immediately after the arch and didn't see any drop in the recorded power for the TT segment.

Results thru Week #4 of our Winter TT Series.
Way to go - all 9 participants road this last week. Maximum point available.
Jim Parker gets the top honors by beating his personal best by 71 seconds. Way to go Jim!
He was not the only one who set PB's this week. There were 6 total new PB's. Here is the run down of them:
Jim F - 48 seconds
Larry - 46 seconds
Rob - 14 seconds
Robert 25 seconds
Josh 23 seconds

Note: In a live event, Larry would actually have been only 2 secs behind Jim F, and John only 2 secs behind Robert when they crossed the finish line. Would have been some exciting finishes to see!
............
Here is the tally of the points thru week #4 from top to bottom:
Jim F = 21
Rob = 16
Larry = 15
Jim P = 13.5
Cliff = 13.5
Josh = 13
Robert = 8
Ken = 6
Maria = 5
.

Here is a link to my Spreadsheet showing all the data if you are interested:

Sweet! For a guy like me who tends to lazily ride along enjoying the trees (except for the downhills of course) this has been a good kick in the pants to put forth some effort and actually ride for some fitness haha!

Wow! I was feeling good on setting a new PR. All of you dropped some big increases! The increases everyone is still making week over week is impressive.

Larry, to help with your mapping to the forums, this is Josh :)

You can trim your strava ride to start a bit after the segment start so strava won't pick it up on the first warm up lap and it'll start as you pass through the second time. You'll loose a mile of your total ride but it'll get you the important data.

Simple screen capture should be good enough for forum use.

Open your ride on strava's website and not your phone, then on the left click the wrench tab and then select crop. It'll load a new page and just move the green dot on the slider just far enough to exceed the start of the 2 lap segment and click crop. Give it like 5-10 mins and come back and refresh the page to see your segments regenerated. This is the same method use to crop out parts of a ride like when you go for a ride then drive home with strava still on claiming every KOM in your car.

Rojo - I can do a screen capture, but the forum app will not let me upload it. Not sure why it is not allowing me not to. I actually thought no-one could do it, but now that we see you can do it, I will look into it a little deeper.
Since you can do it, why don't you capture the "week4" section and post it for everyone too!
Thanks,
Larry
