X-Seam Sizing Specifically On The Quest

I'm 6'1" tall and, using several x-seam measuring techniques, have a 46" x-seam (45.75" if I use the exact reading) which is the max recommended for the Quest with 26" wheels. Though I won't be growing anymore at 54 years old, I'm wondering if it's risky to buy a bike for which I'm on the max side of this measurement. I could go with the Sofrider and have a little more room for adjustment, if necessary, or does operating at the max x-seam measurement not really present any dangers as far as fitting the bike to the person.

The first things that come to mind, concerning a maxed-out adjustment:

-you can't adjust for the X-seam changes you may need, as you become more acclimated to your bike.
I adjusted the length of the TFT daily, for weeks, while I was getting accustomed to my bike.

-You may run out of adjustment if you change pedals, cleats or shoes... or even wear thicker socks.

-You may run out of adjustment if you find that you need extra padding on the bike's seat.

-Your handlebar may interfere with your thighs.

On the other hand, there is still a lot of range of adjustment available in the seat pan,
the seat back and the handlebar.

Mr. Tolhurst, Mr. Burton and Mr. Holz, among others, will be glad to help you further!

what is your inseam? I'm 6'1

what is your inseam? I'm 6'1 too and have a lot of room on my Sofrider. I wear 31 "inseam jeans.

According To Mr. Levi & Mr. Strauss

Well, according to my jeans and all the other pants I buy, I'm right at a 32" inseam.

 I've never measured my x

I've never measured my x seam, but we're basically the same height and the same inseam. I would be amazed if you couldn't fit well on the quest.

Answering My Own Question For Those Who Follow

Well, as everyone who offered advice suspected, the Quest fits me just fine. The seat came pre-set to 45 degrees and that's how I left it. I set the boom out to 11 because that's where my heel placed it during static fitting. When I actually started to ride the bike, I found I had to shorten the boom to the 10.5 mark so I wouldn't feel like I was "stretching" for the pedals. No knees hitting anything and everything feels comfortable.
