Yet more Vendetta questions...

I'm trying to resist the Vendetta urge, but the Sebring results make it even harder. WOW!!

And trying to read all there is on it. Seems the critical info is this:

' Longest fitting x-seam 1140mm (45") '

If I sit up tightly, I can squeeze into 47". I've measured 49" before ( 6'2" tall, long body ) - so that kills it for me.... :-(

So, when are you going to make a large size, just for me? - And out of titanium while you're at it

!!

The build with the HED 3rd brake lever is interesting.... does it work as your only brake lever?
- has me wondering if bullhorns will work on the Silvio, as I do like non-indexed bar cons...

Hangon, you need to see the fitting range on the 1.5 version that we are now selling. You will fit very easily into our large frame size!!

... didn't see those sizes on

... didn't see those sizes on the Vendetta info page... (??). Anyway, the graph suggests it would be a better fit than my Silvio. Now I only need to save the pennies - or trade up the Silvio?

Being new to bent bikes, I've been doing a bit of research ( maybe a dangerous thing ). One comment, that a riders head (ie, entire body) should be forwards of the rear axle. Comparing how I ride on the Silvio and the Softrider, this seems right to me. The Softy has the longer rear fork due to the suspension. Despite my longer time on the Silvio, I'm more stable on the Softy. I still 'weave' ( I wont call it wobble) a bit more than I'd like on the Silvy. Something you have to watch here, as its a thing that DF riders like to criticise about bents.

So.... I'm wondering if the larger size Vedetta is longer out the back, or just the front boom ?
I note the picture of Jim P. on his large option bike ( Vendetta questions thread) has him well back to the rear axle. 74' tall is the same as me, but his X-seam 44", mine 47" - 49 " ( if I have measured it correctly )

Another thought, as the BB on a Cruzbike is on a relatively easilly exchanged part of the frame, it should be easy to have a BB30 option (??) - given how these claim to be lighter and stiffer, that would help the Vendetta's super sporting aims.

My 2c worth, anyway!

Hi gannet,
BB30, no can do.

Hi gannet,
BB30, no can do. Because the chainstay is fitted to the bearing cups, the chainstay is grabing the crank axle not at 69mm wide like a normal bike, but at 89mm wide. That is a lot of additional stability already, probably more than offered by BB30. no other manufacturer has done this, but then, none have the design requirement I do. The boom is also oversized. Together the boom and chainstay will take even elite springing power without flex.

Yes I better update the V specs page .. oops.

Most of the design guidelines for bents evolve from the RWD type. The h ead position in front of the rear axle is not one I've paid attention to. I wanted the bike wheelbase as short as possible, from transportation, and to assist paceline ridng.

The different sizes are achieved inthe front boom. For any size weight person, the mainframe positions the mass properly between the wheels. One Center of Gravity is, about, at the navel. And the navel is positioned, about half way between the wheels.
