    New Buyer Advice - S40 versus Q45?

I have been on many gravel trails and dirt logging roads, some with steep switchbacks, on my unsuspended T50. Yes it does jounce me around a bit but decreasing tire pressure goes a long way to making for a more comfortable ride. From what you describe I would say the S40 would be more to your...

    Vendetta V 2.0 for sale: asking $2,100

A friend of mine had a similar problem with BROL. He paid his membership so that he could list his Bacchetta Giro for sale but his efforts to list the bike were continually rebuffed. He showed Bryan Ball, who was running the site at the time, his paid receipt but still couldn't list the bike! I...

First day With the new Hoops

My first 38 mile outing with the Reynolds carbon wheels I bought from Ratz. Did they make me faster? I'm not sure about that but they sure do ride smooth, even with the rather slim 23mm Pro One tubeless tires he included with the very good deal he offered. A little tweaking of the spokes...

Pro Tip - Just Say NO - Tannus "Tires"

I ran into one of these solid tires last week. I was pulling mechanic duties at our club's Covered Bridge Bicycle Tour and a rider came up and said her wheel was making a thump thump noise. I checked her bike and saw a phillips screw embedded in her tire. I removed the screw and noticed that the...

Seeking advice for new V20c rider

Yes, I'm using the 11-36 that came with the Vendetta I purchased used along with a Sram X-9 derailleur. I notice that I never use the 2 lowest gears on that cassette so when the wheels I'm getting from Ratz arrive with the 11-32 cassette he's including I'll be switching to that. If you're...

Seeking advice for new V20c rider

Just to give the OP some encouragement, today I passed all the riders in our group on the first climb, including a pretty fast tandem couple. All of them were younger than me (I'm 78) and most had pricy carbon bikes while I was on my old Silvio 1.0, not as fast as my Vendetta. Further down the...

Seeking advice for new V20c rider

I failed on my first uphill attempt so I can emphasize. You need to incorporate the upper body into the biomechanics of the Cruzbike. The only solution is to practice, practice, practice. Soon enough the body/mind connection will meld and you'll conquer those hills with a big smile on your face.

Post a Pic of your Ride

Ooh, I got one of those. I had it out today for a 23 miler. It's a good climber and an all around fun bike. Not so good for really big mileage cause of recumbutt. I assume that's the one you had lofted over your head in your Cruzbike Riders photo?

    Greg Lemond talks pro cycling.

Thanks for that link. I attended a talk at a local bike shop by Daniel de Vise, the author of a book on Greg titled The Comeback. I purchased the book, enjoyed it and later donated it to our bike collective. Isn't there a documentary on Greg's Tour career called The last Rider, a reference to...

Recumbents limited from Cycle North Carolina’s Mountains to Coast tour.

Is this a deja vu repeat of the 1934 ban on recumbents in UCI events? They ban us because they fear us.

Seeking advice for new V20c rider

I would recommend clip in pedals as soon as you feel comfortable with the bike. I find I can handle many tricky, low speed situations much better when clipped in. Many times I will pedal with my dominate leg and out rigger with my other leg while slowly guiding the bike around. This works well...

Post a Pic of your Ride

There is no way my pretty much stock V20 can compare to the ones displayed here so I'll go to the other extreme and post this old photo of a Freerider I had once on my way to the doggy park. I eventually donated the Freerider to our bike collective and replaced it with a T50. The T50 is a...

Need specs on 700c wheels and tires for my Q45

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable can come up with an answer for this but to me it seems that going from stock 650b wheels with an ISO of 584mm to a 700c with and ISO of 622mm is not going to work. The larger question is would 700c wheels really make the Q45 faster and why would you want to...

    CRUZBIKE Sigma

Thanks for the explanation Robert. I was wondering why they would bring out a LWB recumbent when Rans and Easy Racers had already perfected the genre. And Doug, I didn't mean to disparage in any way your efforts to make the Sigma road worthy.

    CRUZBIKE Sigma

One has to wonder why John Tolhurst (I think I remember seeing a video of him promoting the Sigma) would want to add a RWD recumbent to the Cruzbike line? Wouldn't that dilute the brand? FWD, MBB is what sets Cruzbikes apart from all the other the recumbents out there. Why come out with an...

    State of the Cruzbike Nation

At 78 I'm definitely in the 9% group and possibly in the 1% of the very oldest Cruzbikers out there? Cruzbike turned my biking life around. Finding a recumbent that was not only fast and fun to ride but could climb well enough so that I could keep up on the hills with DF riders and far outpace...
