2018 V20 Coming Down the Line

Faster maybe, but I think it will be very hard to beat the looks of the RAAM bikes. I think they're at the very top in aesthetics right now and that's without an exotic frame material. The choice of color and the angles of the Vendetta have collaborated to create a masterpiece in aesthetics...

Coast Down testing with Larry Oz!

This frame isn't one of Malric's, is it? Looks like a one-off custom carbon frame. Intriguing but at a near horizontal seating position it is best suited for track-only racing. I'd hate to have to climb on any long hills in that position, and of course riding it on the road with knees at or...

2018 V20 Coming Down the Line

Agreed and will go a step further by stating that this version is one of the most beautiful bikes ever produced, and I'm including DFs. I didn't think the V20 could get much nicer after the dark grey version went to market but this is museum centerpiece caliber beauty (if museums celebrating...

Homemade aero discs. An accident in waiting or $40 worth speed

If the discomfort persists, try a suspension seatpost. I put one on my fat bike last winter and it made enough of a difference that it extended my rides about 50% before experiencing the same level of discomfort as the stock seatpost. It was also very cheap, about 25 Canadian dollars. There...

    Steering damper/stabilizer

If price is an issue, you can avoid splurging on Q-rings and just go with a shorter crank for now. Super slim's recommendation is a very good one and the link he provided will get you started. Regarding gearing: every rider is so different from another and the areas ridden vary so much that...

    Steering damper/stabilizer

Q-rings will even out the pedal stroke and that might reduce pedal steer. Most if not all of the consistent Cruzbike race champions over the past several years use them. So, you benefit from better stability and efficiency for superior performance in most cases. Win/win. Unfortunately, the new...

    Charlotte Motor Speedway - Tues - Sept 12th - 10 Mile TT - Ya'll come

Which bike are you going to race and which one did you race with last week when you nearly broke the record?

Coast Down testing with Larry Oz!

I really believe if it's possible to do this, you will find a way!

Coast Down testing with Larry Oz!

I totally agree and wouldn't recommend anyone trying to ride with a disc wheel up front on the road. The other bikes in the test had them and this was only a suggestion to even out the test field. No biggie. :)

Coast Down testing with Larry Oz!

Hi Larry, I wouldn't worry too much in trying to find a 650C tubular with latex tube. Tubulars are different enough that riding one with a butyl tube in and of itself won't make a huge difference in rolling resistance. I have 30 years saddle time worth of tubular experience. The difference is...

Coast Down testing with Larry Oz!

The Arrowhead is the only carbon bike in the test. Carbon is known for being an efficient material for power transmission, despite the less efficient RWD drivetrain. It could also be the position is just better suited to your particular physiology. BTW, if the Arrowhead was tested with the HED...

Congrats, Cruzbike is killing it this year with all the amazing race performances from a very skilled and growing pool of talent.

    S40 transformed into F40?

Eric, is your velomobile the original Strada or Strada DF? If it's the original, there is a significant difference in performance when compared to the fastest commercially produced velos available now. Didn't a velomobile racer in a DF win this year's Sebring, and by a big margin? I recall this...

    Special RAAM Vendetta reveal

I don't know if the reach is much changed between both handlebars, but if you really like the narrow position, could you use the tops of these bars to imitate the hand position you had with the stubby handlebars?

    Special RAAM Vendetta reveal

Could it be lowered? The frame appears to be the standard V20 in yellow paint with the S40 chainstays. If Larry wants it lower he can always use the special dropouts Jim used at Sebring.

    Special RAAM Vendetta reveal

That is one of the nicest Vendettas I've ever seen. Is the paint scheme custom or will it be the new color for the V20 frameset?

Anyone using a curved slider "upside down"?

I also think the curved slider on your bike looks great and flows with the angles of the frame. You also have the large chainstays and the curved slider makes sense, otherwise you'd have to use a riser to get the handlebars at a comfortable position. Stunning bike, by the way.

Anyone using a curved slider "upside down"?

What is your X-seam? Perhaps some people can give you a better idea to determine if your bike is optimally fitted for you. The curved slider can be used oriented in either direction (up or down). It could help resolve any handlebar height issues you may be having. I wish for the option to have...
