2022 Vendetta V20c with carbon fiber front end

Today I tested the Force derailleur on my S30 which is recommended up to 28T and works fine with the Chinese 11-34 cassette! This is without adjusting the B-screw or removing any links to push the chain away from the cogs. On top of that the chain I'm testing the group with is a 10-spd! LOL, I...

2022 Vendetta V20c with carbon fiber front end

Which model Force AXS rear derailleur do you have? The one on my road bike is the intermediate range model which is recommended up to a 33T cog. This derailleur didn't require any B-screw adjustment to make it work on my Chorus 11-34T cassette. The thing rocked right out of the box. Never had...

2022 Vendetta V20c with carbon fiber front end

If you don't need specific SRAM gear ranges offered in their cassettes, there are alternatives that work as well. On my road bike I have the TT 1X Force AXS and a Campy Chorus 11-34 cassette. I also tested a Chinese 11-34 12-spd cassette (Shimano splines) and shifts equally well. Apparently...

    oval chainring

That's interesting. I've tried both regular Rotor Q-rings and QXL as well as Osymetric. I find the Rotor chainrings to be superior. That said, I do prefer a more pronounced oval shape but for some reason the Osymetric shape doesn't do it for me. Maybe because it's too irregular and less smooth...

    oval chainring

I was looking at the Ogival chainrings a couple of years ago. There's some compelling info on their site but I never found any rider reports where these rings are compared to other ovals, and decided not to purchase them at that time. Did you ever try typical oval rings before to compare?

A second V20c build and ride impressions

Very interesting. That's only a few degrees but in terms of steering geometry it's very significant. I wasn't aware there was a change at all.

V20c build and first ride report

Well, you can't really use these results to compare so don't worry. The data is only good as a rough (under)estimate of the bike's potential. The best comparison would be with identical wheelsets and no extra drag from brakes or other subpar components. Once you have the disk issue fixed and...

    ISO: Vendetta V20

Awesome! I hope you find a V20, that should really bump your speed in the bike stage quite a bit. There have been several Vendettas listed in the forum only in the past few months.

    ISO: Vendetta V20

Ah OK, didn't know that. I was under the impression they weren't permitted under any circumstances. I'm not in the US but guess it must be similar elsewhere. Thanks for the info and best of luck in your search.

    ISO: Vendetta V20

Hi, welcome to the forum. I'm surprised you're looking for a V20 to race triathlons. Which triathlons permit recumbents?

    S40 in the fleet

What specifically is it about the S40 front triangle that you prefer so much over the S30? For me, thru-axle wheels are a major disadvantage because I'd need to purchase a complete set of new wheels. I'm happy with the wheels I have. To replace my wheelsets with equivalent thru-axle quality and...

Looking to buy: used Silvio, S30, S40 in Europe/Germany

Hopefully you'll find a seller in Europe. There seems to be a good number of Cruzbikers in the UK if my memory of browsing the forum in past years serves me correctly. Maybe someone is deciding on an upgrade. Hope you find what you're looking for. Best of luck.

When is S40 going to get a carbon front end?

Unfortunately, it's not backward compatible. Robert Holler confirmed the carbon front triangle incompatibility with older Vendettas in the V20C thread, and that means the S40 is incompatible as well.

When is S40 going to get a carbon front end?

I'm pretty confident it will eventually. It's a question of when. The current worldwide problem with manufacturing and supply will no doubt delay the time frame.

    Silvio 2.1 Maintenance Advice

Is there a temporary quick fix if the elastomer needs replacing, or can the bike still be ridden?

    V20 Bottom Bracket

Thank you for this post. I was going to be researching the force required to clamp the stays on the BB shell because I'm going to be swapping out for shorter stays on my bike and need this information. You saved me some time. Good thing I invested in a torque wrench with a big range in...

    V20 Bottom Bracket

Yeah, the average rider or mere mortal would be lucky to eek out a watt advantage on a ceramic BB vs standard metal bearings. One thing about ceramic, there's no substitute for the smoothness of those bearings. I've ridden on ceramic hub bearings and a BB for a while, which were well used not...

    Variable seat angle for climbing?

I'm not sure that drivetrain type has much of an effect on climbing ability with regards to seat angle. I recall when the S40 was released that it was touted as the best climbing model Cruzbike ever produced. A higher seat angle has long been regarded as a climbing advantage in recumbent design...
