I've finally decided the Vendetta is not designed for carrying much other than a few bits and pieces. I bought a BUC seat bag bag from Bent up cycles thinking it would work or I could make it work, but it has a sleeve designed for the wide seat of Bachetta bikes and it is not stable on the V...
Soldier, Looking at your bike set-up, would you mind cataloguing all your gear for me? I plan a bikepacking tour next year and would like to consider my gear options. Thanks.
Thanks for all that. So now I need to look at the ICE web site. o_O
I little realised when I bought the Vendetta that it would cost almost as much again to put it in working order. :(
Okay, thanks. I think I'll stay with the large one then, and if all else fails, I can always put a rear mudguard (fender) on.
By the way, what make is the headrest you have on, is it a modification of the SAS from Cruz Bike?
Bruce, I've just called the company to find out the difference in the two sizes and was told the large one has a deeper draft, will the large drag on the wheel, is that why you bought the small?
Snillard, could you tell me about the bag/water bottle arrangement you have behind the seat? Thanks.
And by the way, mudguards? I haven't thought about mudguards, any use?
"40 mph for 8 hrs has got to be a record"
But wouldn't it be nice? ;):p
"I ordered a Thor "Sport G" in March 2016. The total bill was $220 US for the seat and for shipping. Packaging was very good and delivery was prompt."
Thanks Bruce.
Question to the group: What kind of rear view...
Can anyone say what the cost of a Thor seat is? I've looked at their web site but it appears you have to go through the 'ordering' process to get the numbers. Thanks.
FWIW: I think if I already owned a Bachetta or Schlitter or other fast recumbent I wouldn't have invested the money in a V.
In my Bessies Creek 24 races I see a variety of recumbents. Some like the racers on the V (Parkers, Oz) are setting records but others on the B's and S's are pretty close...
"Cycle NC Mountains to Coast Ride - week long, starts in the mountains and ends at the coast"
I'll have to look into this for next year. Sounds interesting. I have ridden about 6 bike tours of Colorado and am ready for some change of scenery.
Lee, you were not alone in bailing; according to the web site just now, out of the 1500 registered riders, only just over 800 finished - which also includes those who didn't start.
