How I spent my Summer Vacation (an ongoing vendetta saga)

Hey Bob, how do you like the FLEXR setup? Would you recommend I try it on a Silvio 2.0? Would it work with the bottles down on the seat back instead of behind the headrest?

    Sizing conundrum

It effectively lengthens the steerer tube of an existing fork. Yes it should work on a Vendetta 2.0 (at least I can't imagine why not). I don't think "stem extension" is accurate, it's a steerer tube extender or maybe stem raiser (there isn't really a traditional stem here).

Water Bottle Mounts on Silvio 2

Do you have any photos please? I've been thinking about trying this. Another issue is that my cables route along the bottom of the boom, I don't want to interfere with them.

    Vendetta V2 (Large) for sale

Congrats. I hope your fit works out better than what is shown in the photos, I have never seen the boom angled like that before.

    Vendetta vs others

I go back and forth between my Silvio (for longer rides) and a DF (for quick hops around town). Going downhill scares me more on the DF (because I'm face first), bumpy roads scare me more on the Silvio, and cars scare me on both.

1st century - longest ride ever

Yup I remember seeing your setup on another thread. Maybe I should give up on simple and try to replicate it.

1st century - longest ride ever

Sorry if this is derailing the thread too much but it's been going in this direction. With the goal of being able to carry an additional water bottle and access it while riding, here's what the simple setup I rigged up today, using the Topeak adapter (have not taken this on the road yet)...

    Vendetta seat?

I'm starting to wish sewing was my hobby...pottery has no place on a bike :/

    Vendetta seat?

Hey Bob, I've been trying to justify the $230 price to myself for the seat upgrade, and I can't do it based on the claimed 1 pound weight difference. I had assumed the new seat was the same shape and therefore equally comfortable. It's not? http://cruzbike.com/carbon-fiber-seat

    Vendetta seat?

I believe the Silvio 1.0 had an aluminum seat integrated with the frame, with a 45 degree seat back angle. The V20 has a longer, narrower carbon fiber seat, attached to the frame with velcro and/or bolts, with a 20 degree seat back angle, and an integrated headrest.

1st century - longest ride ever

Congrats! I did my first century on my Silvio last fall, in much cooler weather than yours. About 7 hours moving time, 7.5 hours total. I was tired and happy at the end. FYI, I just have two large water bottles mounted on my seat back. I cannot reach them while riding and stop to take water...

    Q ring upgrade - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......

Not sure what you're looking at but cranks go through the inside of the bottom bracket, nothing else should clamp to the outside of the bearings like the Cruzbike frame does. They should work fine.

XQL Q-rings .vs. Reg Q-ring .vs. Circular Chain Rings

Maybe you're really good at spinning round rings, Larry.

    vendetta evolution ideas

The suspension fork was already removed from the Quest (rear suspension remains). The suspension fork on the Silvio is one of the heavier and maybe one of the more expensive parts of the bike, so removing it may make sense. Mostly I want suspension for my head, which is over the rear wheel.

Yes guys, there's a saying, "don't feed the troll".

    The 5000-miles no-flat tire

Except for my very first tube installation when I messed up and pinched the side of the tube, I have never, in a lifetime of biking, had a flat tire...
