BTW - I wanted to give credit See? And now we know why Charles always says: "If you don't post a picture, it never happened!" (And Bob really did a wonderful job of putting that thread together. Having it on BROL instead of here also helped.)

    1000 Miles Later

YOU'RE IN THE GROOVE!You I agree with this. I do think that one can involve the upper body and this allows us to put out more power. But, for me at least, I can only do this for short(ish) periods of time. So, for short hills, I think this makes a big difference. For big hills...

    another electric option

This looks like a very cute This looks like a very cute system, but I too am concerned about slipping, etc. But maybe it's not a problem (gripping on both sides of the wheel is pretty clever - I'd love to read reviews of this).

I use a top-pull on my I use a top-pull on my conversion and a bottom pull on my Sofrider. Both work well (although I too prefer top pull because it will be shorter, direct run). Front derailleur, some pictures, and I think you're good to go. :D

    reading the tea leaves

I do think the Silvio is a I do think the Silvio is a more "complicated" bike than the Vendetta, so I'm not surprised it costs more. Personally, I'd prefer a Silvio over a Vendetta (but if anybody's got a Vendetta they want to get rid of, I'll take it! :D ). I do agree with Jeremy that...

Boy is it flat where you Boy is it flat where you live! I clicked on your username instead of ride and thought, "Wow, 7,500 feet of climbing. That's quite a bit." But then I realized that was for 2014 and just shy of 1,000 miles. :D

Is this a good donor bike?

My Sofrider has a 123 mm My Sofrider has a 123 mm wide. It need that for the triple I put on. The bottom bracket and the crankset need to agree, so I wouldn't change one without the other. That being said, given the components on the donor bike, I can imagine upgrading lots of bits and bobs.

    Some observations on being oversized...........

After seeing your bike, it's After seeing your bike, it's clear that you need to lower the seat angle. With it that upright, your gonna feel cramped. I like your seat extension. Try and find a way to keep the extension while being able to lean the seat back much more. With both of my...

    Some observations on being oversized...........

Have you tried tilting the Have you tried tilting the seat back? This could (?) help both by moving weight to your back from your butt (helps me) and by changing where the seat back sits pin your back (helps me, too) . Figuring out how to build your own seat back may be the way to go...
