    Boom creeping forward

Hi, Larry. It does sound Hi, Larry. It does sound doubtful that the shop will do anything to make it right, especially since the frame is in your hands now. I'm not saying the shop is unethical, but they could just as easily say that you cut the boom, or the prior owner did. Once the...

    Boom creeping forward

My Guess I'm either thinking the wrench at the shop clearly had no clue what to do, or the outer boom was dropped, the edge was deformed and cutting it was a quicker solution than trying to fix it. At any rate, I would hope that this was pointed out to the buyer and that the shop tried to make...

    Boom creeping forward

If I was John, the original If I were John, the original owner, the shop would have owed me a replacement frame, boom, or a whole lot of cash. That's simply unacceptable. Fortunately, extending the slot seems like it should fix it. I hope so!

    The great Silvio/Vendetta swap

Great Story Quite a round-about way of getting a Vendetta, but it seems like everything worked in your favor.

Photos from The Texas Time Trials 2014

Carbon Vendetta in the works? I'd venture to say that the frame in question is a carbon prototype made in the same facility as the Schlitter Encore. If so, that could be very promising in that a new, lower-priced Vendetta could be on the horizon. Fingers crossed.

Changing the cassette on a Quest 3.0 (dual driveI

If you have no chain whip If you have no chain whip, you can wrap one of your cogs with a length of chain and use Channel Lock pliers to hold them still whilst using removing the cassette lockring.

Wheel Stickers... Lief, If you look at the photo again, you'll see that the stickers are actually closer to 1, 4, 7, and 10 o'clock. ;-) Those are reflective strips, I do believe.

    Silvio v.2 - Body Filler?

To Smooth or Not to Smooth? I like the look of well-executed "stack of dimes" welds, but I can appreciate the use of filler in the original Silvio to provide a smooth, unified look to a rather complex frame. Thanks to everyone who took the time to answer my question.

    Silvio v.2 - Body Filler?

Thanks for the pic, Larry I think the welds look good. I imagine going without the body filler has really done a lot to improve production time!

    Silvio v.2 - Body Filler?

Good Guess! But no. No new bikes are in my future. :(

    Silvio v.2 - Body Filler?

The v.1 Silvio made use of body filler to hide welds and provide seamless transitions between frame members. Does the v.2 have the same treatment? I can't tell from the pictures I've seen, which may be a testament to Cruzbike's weld quality. Thank you.

    Conundrum : tandem

Build it From Scratch - Maybe? Doug, You have the skills and the resources to modify and build some amazing bikes. I have no doubt that you could modify the Vision into a "Cruz-tandem" and that could potentially be the easiest (with the exception of the headtube modification) route. Once...

    new set up

If I were building a Silvio, If I were building a Silvio, I'd scour Craig's List for a suitable donor bike. It's always surprising to see what you can find for about $500 - much less than building a bike piece by piece. I have experience with Shimano more than I do SRAM or Campagnolo, so...

    Lessons from my recent stupidity

That's good to know, but it That's good to know, but it sucks to find these things out. It's a shame that's a specialty piece; I can't imagine you'd find a replacement at any bike shop or from problemsolvers.com. I do wish that clamp could be retrofitted onto the first generation Silvio. The...

    If only

My Crystal Ball Says... October 1, 2014 It will be here sooner than you know it. Do you have a build kit already or a donor bike? If not, you have almost 6 weeks to amass all of your parts! I think that would be the fun part of waiting. :)

    O. M. G. This has to be the SCARIEST BIKE I have EVER SEEN!!!!!!

Front's Not Heavy... "I never realized that the front end would weigh so much more than the rest of the frame!" You just have to get past the idea that the front end of a bike is the light end. A bike is typically heaviest where the drive train components are fitted. Try walking a...

    vendetta which model

You have a rare bike, indeed! You have a rare bike, indeed! That would be the Pittsburgh Steelers version. Five of these were ordered by the Rooney family after Bill Cowher found that adding cycling to the training regimen was a great way for some of his players to cross train without taxing...
