Things are starting to get serious around here!

Absolutely. I live in Southern California, where porch piracy is real. It’s become the state pastime, I think. I have everything delivered to work. Mark

Things are starting to get serious around here!

I will start the thread when I have the parts in hand. I’m the meantime.... Tick....Tock......Tick...........Tock...................Tick

Things are starting to get serious around here!

Well, the truck just came by my work and dropped off a package. A big package, with "Cruzbike" written all over it! Components are ordered, wheels are ordered, basically the entire bike is on it's way, piece by piece. Stay tuned for a build thread. Mark

Things are starting to get serious around here!

I’m ready. Haven’t been doing a lot of local riding. Been riding down to San Clemente and riding the train home. Pretty fun. Orange County has it going on with the cycling facilities.

    Question on S-40 Setup

I will definitely make sure before I start sawing.

    Question on S-40 Setup

That's the way I do it, too. I was only kinda sorta kidding about the hacksaw thing. I want it pretty low, that's just me. Not sure I will use that WB mount, anyway. Never say never, I guess. Mark

    Question on S-40 Setup

I guess I will get it set up as is and see how she fits. But know this, if I have way more room between my knees and the handlebars than I need, I have a hacksaw and I know how to use it! Mark

    Question on S-40 Setup

I've noticed the big stack of spacers on the steer tube, raising the TFT above the headset considerably. My Silvio 1.0 is not like this. Is there a particular reason the steer tube has been left so long and spaced like that? Is there any reason the steer tube couldn't be whacked a little...

Things are starting to get serious around here!

I got the notice that my frame has shipped and is supposed to be here Wednesday! Gosh, maybe I should get some components and wheels figured out, huh? Mark

    S40 Di2

Well, I got to play around with an e-tap setup yesterday. I have to admit.... Pretty cool!

Things are starting to get serious around here!

Just got REAL serious, I pulled the trigger! This will be my fourth Cruzbike, dating back to my original kit bike. Can't wait for it to show up! I ordered the orange frame set. Still deciding on some little things, like wheels and components. I'm trusting that frame will tell me what she...

    S40 Di2

So... It looks like the rear derailleur needs charged about 2 to 1 with the front derailleur. Is that about right?

    S40 Di2

All this talk back and forth has me at least looking at Etap. Pros and cons to both systems. Wireless is definitely a pro. Di2 can accommodate up to a 34 tooth cog. Only one battery to charge on Di2. Etap can interface with your Garmin... OOH, I like that! Mark

Wow, great info, guys! Thank you very much!

    S40 Di2

I am giving some thought to throwing caution to the wind and putting Di2 on my soon to be new build. I'm checking to see if anybody has done an install of Di2 on an S40, or other similar frames. I've seen it installed on Vendettas and I know a few have been done on other bikes. Interested in...

Things are starting to get serious around here!

Good to hear. Thanks for the info. I appreciate your thoughts, for sure! So, once you removed your headrest, did you plug the holes in the frame? It seems like a good place for water to accumulate. Where about Socal do you ride? I'm inland, but known to do remote rides about anywhere. Mark

Things are starting to get serious around here!

From what I've seen, SRAM and Shimano both support larger cassettes these days. Thanks for your input! Mark

Things are starting to get serious around here!

I got the green light from momma to upgrade my Silvio 1.0. It's kind of a bittersweet moment, to tell the truth. My 1.0 has been good to me, but the allure of rack bosses and other upgrades is alluring. I live in Southern California and our roads have certainly been better. I worry a...

My Bicycle Journey - from upright to bent -Part 1

I needed to see this. I've been toying with the idea of going to the dark side. You can get quite a bike, ready to roll, for what we pay for just a frame set. But, at nearly 58 years of age and already having some wrist and elbow issues, not to mention lower back pain from time to time, this...
