    The Fred Thread

So, in the continuing Fred adventures, I rode with the bike club again this weekend. This week, I rode with the slower group because the amount of climbing and mileage was more in line with my current state of fitness than the C group.. The ride leader, whose name just so happened to be Fred...

    Your Advice Would be Appreciated

Actually, the only way to ride a recumbent and really ride a recumbent is to spin. I started out with a Bachetta stick bike and rode that for a while. When the Cruzbike bug bit me, I ordered the conversion kit (no longer available) and built a Cruzbike conversion. Even though I hadn't really...

    Silvio 1.0 Chainstay Extension

Thanks, Dan! I figured there would be some front derailleur fiddling. No worries. I also accepted the fact I would have to piece a chain together. That's not a problem. Thanks for the heads up! Mark

    Silvio 1.0 Chainstay Extension

Thanks for that. I figured it would work just fine, I just wanted to make sure. Was I imagining things, or did they come out with the curved boom for the 1.0 at one point in time? Mark

    Silvio 1.0 Chainstay Extension

Thanks, Jack! I'll let you know. I'm just toying with the idea of some upgrades, at this point. We need to get together and ride again, sometime. It's been too long! Mark

    Silvio 1.0 Chainstay Extension

I have a question about the chainstay extensions for the Silvio 1.0. i am considering the 100mm extension. The bike I am riding in my Avatar is the bike receiving the treatment. If I install the extension, is there anything else I should consider doing? Will I still be able to run a...

T50 - Everyone likes a bike you can kick start

You struck a chord. You know... Most newbie, newbie riders aren't going to consider recumbent. Some might, but most won't. They'll usually go one of two ways. They'll either go full on hi zoot road bike and matching kit, or they'll go the el-cheapo wal mart bike. That's just the reality of...

T50 - Everyone likes a bike you can kick start

I respectfully disagree. I get where you're coming from with the beginner, beginner, brand new rider. What about the forty or fifty something guy that has ridden his entire life and wants to try this front wheel drive recumbent thing? That was me. You said it yourself; with no dealer...

Unregulated bike races to give UCI riders a run for their money

Exactly.. I could picture a scenario where any promising young racers would be blacklisted. Mark

Unregulated bike races to give UCI riders a run for their money

Sort of an outlaw league? I like it. The problem is, even if somebody with deep enough pockets to make it happen came along, I doubt that teams would let their racers participate. They would blame the injury potential, of course, but there would be too much to lose. Heck, I bet the UCI would...

    Vendetta Progression

Thanks for posting all that, Matthew Fy! That's some interesting reading. So, the V2s were built in both yellow and red?

I wish I was able to leap right now. I have a friend near Denver that could hold it for me until I go there in June.

    Vendetta Progression

I was curious about the different versions of the Vendetta. Besides the color and the diameter of the top tube of the yellow bike, what are the major changes from one generation to the next? Are any preferred over the others for any reason? Thanks, Mark

silvio 1.0 derailleur hanger poor fit issue

I know this is an older thread, but as was earlier stated, they left that sticker on for quite some time. My Silvio is from either the second, or maybe even third batch and still has the same sticker. Mark
