    "The New Silvio is Coming"

I am extremely disappointed at the lack of a helicopter thingy. Mark

    "The New Silvio is Coming"

You know, you could just start doing a payroll deduction straight to Cruzbike and when a new model comes out, you'd have at least a healthy deposit and Mrs. may never misses it. Mark

You hold onto your dream and I will hold onto mine. GO HELICOPTER THINGY!! Mark

    "The New Silvio is Coming"

Maybe it will have a helicopter thingy that comes out of the handlebar. That would be impressive! It could also explain why the teaser pic is only of the rear triangle and nothing of the front end. Yay, helicopter thingy! Mark

I hate hate. Sorry, somebody had to say it! Mark

    "The New Silvio is Coming"

Pretty optimistic thought based on one picture of the rear triangle.. I'm going to hold out passing judgement one way or the other until I see more. Thanks to Governor Moonbeam, CA roads probably aren't much better. I have a wide tire bike in the Sofrider, but for what I do, I still prefer...

    "The New Silvio is Coming"

Well, riddle me this, Ratzman, when will we see more teaser pics?:) Mark

    "The New Silvio is Coming"

It is, but looking at that picture, the seat angle looks steeper than 45. That's why I said "if". Hard to say from teaser pics. If the name implies 45 degree seat angle, then I guess that's good. I don't know how I feel about the wider wheel accommodations. I'd have no need for knobbies...

    "The New Silvio is Coming"

The hole in the frame is if you want to run rim brakes, internal cable routing.... It appears you have your choice of mounting points for brake caliper. I like the bosses for mounting a rack, underseat, or otherwise. Good to have options If the seating is more upright than even the Silvio...

    Old School Silvio 1.0 upgrade

I know I'm several years late to this party, but I thought it was high time to try something different on my Silvio 1.0. While saving my pennies for a newer Silvio, I decided I should probably give the higher bottom bracket the old college try to make sure I would even like it. Defjack was...

    The Fred Thread

Another update to the chronicles of Fred. I haven't posted much, lately, but have been riding with the local club quite a bit. I've met some new people and fielded a lot of the usual questions. I heard a new one this week, though. "Is that bike direct drive?" I think she meant fixed gear...

Dynamic-boom vs. Fixed-boom Recumbent Bicycle Power Production

Hmm.. Sorta like throwing a skunk into a packed room and standing back to watch the mayhem. Sounds fun!

Dynamic-boom vs. Fixed-boom Recumbent Bicycle Power Production

This discussion seems like it would be a significant cause of consternation and gnashing of teeth on that other forum. Maybe. Mark

    derailleur advice

I wouldn't think that a derailleur would cause a mis-shift, unless it was badly worn to the point the pivot points are all wobbly, but that hardly seems likely. Assuming the derailleur has been kept lubricated, when was the last time you did a serious overhaul; new cables/housings, etc.? With...

GPS unit or iPhone with an app such as Map my Ride

Yes, thought about that. On the other hand, I have read that the GPS chip in the designated gear is more accurate than that in your run of the mill cell phone. I can't say if that's based on fact, of just sales gibberish, but I lean toward the latter. Mark

GPS unit or iPhone with an app such as Map my Ride

Interested to see what others say as I have been researching the same. I fine electronics to be a double edged sword. One more thing to charge and fuss about. I run hot and cold on just a regular old bike computer. On my last ride, I was so fixated on maintaining such and such speed that I...
