    Little tweaks

Well since I got back to Spain... Lots of things had got in the way of getting back on the bike. The last thing I did when leaving the USA was to use Mike to replace the non tubeless deep rim for a tubeless deep rim from LightBicycle.com. It was such a good deal and I have been itching to want...

B&W 96002/N Hardcase bicyle shipping box revue

You can get it into a smaller box if you fold the front assembly against the main body of the bike. You can make it lighter by hand carrying your front forks too. It's like a game of Tetris

    Daydreaming of upgrades

This is good and so are shorter cranks. Shorter cranks allow your knees to be more aero. You will be going faster without knowing it.

B&W 96002/N Hardcase bicyle shipping box revue

$450 for a box? I hope it's the king of boxes! Just make sure it's got TSA approved locks on it, if not they will tear it apart and the item might be delayed on the plane. I should know about that one

    Deep Rims

15 minutes has got to be a record to get a tubeless tyre inflated. This 23mm Schwalbe pro one tubeless looks big! Can't wait to try it tomorrow.

    Deep Rims

The Schwalbe booster is half the price. Just need to look around. Feels like a must have

T50 - Everyone likes a bike you can kick start

My idea with the bike was a frameset and not a bike out of the box. If it's Kickstarter it will almost definitely be a bike out of the box. If it's not, I think Robert will have to be cloned pretty quickly. He is very busy at the moment. Good to see the progression. I guess it will be sold with...

    Deep Rims

I nearly ordered the booster from Amazon but they wanted 22€ for shipping. So I didn't buy it. Got the extenders though.

    Deep Rims

Ok... I have a big issue. Tubeless Schwalbe 30mm valves arrived, mounted the valve with 60 mm extender on the 80mm deep rim and take it down the local bike shop. The local bike shop didn't want to touch it because the valve is loose. There is no way to tighten it against the rim. Is there an...

    Little tweaks

The plan. Reward is key... So strava live segments is working. Suitable long KOM segments selected. The reward plan is if I reduce the gap by 50% , 75% , 90% & 100% I would do something to the bike. Just got to wait for the weather to settle as its been blowing really had for the last few...

    Little tweaks

I awoke at an ungodly hour this morning thinking about an adaptation to my Ultegra hollow cranks. It was a fascinating idea so much so that I didn't go back to sleep. With my bike in its current superb configuration and with me in early season fitness I am thinking of using the wahoo element...

    Little tweaks

I have been riding this bike for quite a long time. It quite amazes me how many different combinations I can come up with. So three more amendments. 5cm off the headrest. So now the top of the headrest is about the same height as the handlebars. The boom/fork attachment has been inverted with...

    Let's talk wheels

My strong points is to out source and get experienced people to do their best for me. This includes anyone who is capable, be them anywhere in the Universe. LOL I have a pretty impressive list. Lightbicycle.com do great rims and wheels. If your LBS is great he should be able to whip off the...

    Let's talk wheels

I will when I get it back from the LBS. The bike shop have already given a delay with the pro one mounting because they didn't have a suitable valve to put in the deep rim. So I guess it will cost some too.

    Let's talk wheels

Lightbicycle.com now do deep rims for tubeless tires. Great and cheap. I just upgraded my 80mm deep rim drive wheel for $254 (which included shipping) :D:cool:

There's Really no Getting Around Some Things

I used stevia a lot in my diet and my joints started to ache like crazy. Some people "me included" can't tolerate it. I felt so much better after a couple of weeks without using it. I won't take ibuprofen tablets either... Too many side effects. https://www.drugs.com/ibuprofen.html

There's Really no Getting Around Some Things

Me too. Bad knees are a pain. Wishing you better Steve. If you are taking Stevia as a sugar substitute , stop using it. I also got some good capsules of tumeric from GNC which allows me to cycle every day. They reduce inflamation of the body. You can also strengthen the knee by knee extensions...

    Treading carefully

It absolutely piddled it down. I didn't race. I did take some good pictures though. The riders towards the back of the peloton were covered head to toe in thick road muck. It was an ugly day. There were just DF riders - UCI regs.

Should you balance your road bike wheels?

I enjoyed the video. I didn't know you could get golf adjustment weights. I just stuck on an old magnet on the other side of the valve with some duck tape on my drive wheel. When I was achieving my max speed last year I could feel the difference. It helps with the confidence too. I like Shane's...
