    Problem with suspension

A couple of (probaby not very A couple of (probaby not very useful) thoughts: (1) Can you add a spacer underneath so there's more clearance? (2) For riding the bike, one generally doesn't turn the wheel that much. I can't tell how far it can turn, but maybe it's enough (3) The offset...

    Adding bar ends

Hi Matthew, For a reference Hi Matthew, For a reference point, I weigh 30 to 40 lbs less than 250 lbs (depends when) and I ride a Sofrider with no problem (and I often ride with 8 lbs of water and a rack with 5 lbs of crap in it). Cheers, Charles

    Adding bar ends

@Matthew: Take a look at this @Matthew: Take a look at this thread about donors for big guys, if you haven't already. Cheers, Charles p.s. I've heard the term Clyde (as in Clydesdale) on BikeForums.net, but not elsewhere. Where did you pick up the term?

    Quest 1.0 451 20 IN WHEELS SOLD

Hi Brian, I think the odds Hi Brian, I think the odds are very good that a bike can be shipped and not ruined. It happens all of the time. The 451 is really a 22" wheel (bigger than the 20" wheel you'll see on most folders (406)). The Quest can take 26" (559) wheels, but I believe...

Possible chepo production bike as donor...

@Eric: I also have dreams @Eric: I also have dreams about making my own carbon MBB. And I'd probably start my imitating the Sofrider frame (with making some of the angles more Vendetta like). @Carnal: Used bike in good shape is your best shot and both getting a good and cheap conversion...

    It's cold out there...

But that's no excuse! Of course, the couple feet of snow that was just dumped on us, that is really slowing down my riding. Read more at my latest entry: Dressed for Success

Possible chepo production bike as donor...

Don't do that! I did If you buy the Walmart bike, in the long run, it is likely that you are going to end up replacing pretty much everything except the frame. Given that, the advice above isn't bad at all. The only issue with the V2K frame is that, well, it's just a frame. You'll...

Hi, I don't see any problems Hi, I don't see any problems with the frame you've found (although the components aren't going to be wonderful). Craigslist can be a good source of used bikes, too. As you mentioned, one of the most important thing when choosing a donor is bar height...

Practicing Silvio Climbing Technique on a DF Bike

I completely understand why I completely understand why one might have to wait to put off the purchase of a Silvio. I'd strongly recommend putting together a Cruzbike conversion and riding that. Wait for a good price on a used conversion kit (and then talk to me about a frame that you used to...
