    Chainstay design question

Bananabike, Welcome to the forum! On a Silvio, the CF stays are thin on the profile, but they are very wide and strong. You'll spin the wheel, or outmuscle your opposing arm before you flex the front end of a Silvio. Good question, though. I pondered the same thing before I pulled the...

    dual 26 low/mid racer build

What John is saying is; you can put the stem however far down the riser as you need it. Yes, there will be excess riser sticking above. When you are sure everything is as you want it, cut the riser down to where you need it so it does not stick above the stem. Unless you want the flashy light...

    dual 26 low/mid racer build

I agree. You can always put a flashy light on topof the stem and as you ride, yell out "wooo-woooooo-woooooo-wooooo". People will think your either part of the special police, or just special. :D Mark

    Great Weekend of Riding

Funny you should say that.  The morning of the ride, I opened the bike fridge and the stench coming off my helmet caused me to take a knee. The dog caught a whiff and immediately bolted. I didn't have time to throw it out in the front yard and hose it off and there's always the...

    Great Weekend of Riding

On Saturday, August 22, I showed up rather late at the ride start. The people there were planning to do San Timoteo Canyon and the back side of Oak Glen. That's not an easy climb and looking at the group, I figured there to be only about three, maybe four of the 12 I could out-climb...

    Nasty Silvio crash tonight!

I've never had my chain come off on the back, but I've thrown my chain off the big ring a couple times. What gets you is whey you go to move the pedal forward, the chain catches, so instead of turning the crank, you push the wheel. Push it too far and at high speed and there's no recovery...

Can an Airnimal Chameleon be converted?

I always thought an airnimal would make a good conversion. As far as the fork goes, remember, it's not the fork that holds the wheel on a conversion. The adaptor plates are what makes a front fork work for a rear wheel. Mark

    Knees and a Cruzbike

Hi Biscuit, The thing about a Cruzbike is; if you tried to test ride one in a shop, you would probably hate it. As you have read, I'm sure, there is a bit of a learning curve to the MBB FWD bike. Once you get a handle on it, they are head and shoulders above the rest. The power transfer is...
