    Climbing Hills

To Psychling "That picture was taken in 1971 outside a 'pensione' in Cuernavaca, Mexico. I was on an 'unauthorized' (parole officer not informed) hitchhiking trip to as many archaeological sites in `mesoamerica' as I could fit in in 3 months. Another American staying at the pensione took the...

Okay, I'm hooked and the planning has started

Wal*Mart has phased out the Wal*Mart has phased out the Tiara, but there are a few still lingering in stores. I'll keep an eye out for a used one; shipping would be cheap as you need only the frame, swingarm and seatpost. The rest (aside from the Shimano Revo Shifters) is boat anchor material.

Okay, I'm hooked and the planning has started

Keep looking for a Tiara... ...my local Wal*Mart has 2 in stock and they do show up on Craig's now and then. As I am working with my conversion, I can't help but think that the V2K frameset is a better option though. I am more about doing just a custom paint job and not so much into fabrication...

Okay, I'm hooked and the planning has started

Not a bad looking bike. The top tube is lower than the top of the head tube and appears to be straight and relatively level. I am curious as to what the seat height is, however.

    Lost part

Any luck? Any luck procuring the missing part for your derailleur cable?

    Gonna give it a shot.

It does look sweet, doesn't it? But bear in mind, Doug has amazing building skills and apparently, a parts bin to die for. He is using an Easton carbon fibre swingarm, what appears to be a clamp from a Silvio to attach the boom to the steering tube and what I would guess is a Rans curved riser...

    Gonna give it a shot.

I'm new to this but... The "box store hazards" aren't always a bed bet. Specifically, take a look at the Next Tiara. I am working on a conversion now (I have yet to purchase a kit) and Doug Burton has done some amazing work with this frame...

    Parting Out: Tiara Pro

Heavy steel components :( Forget about the Tiara parts, the only pieces worth using might be the seatpost (alloy) and the Shimano Revo shifters. Everrthing else is basically boat anchor material.

    V2K Rear Triangle/Swingarm

Didn't win that auction... ...and missed out on getting a carbon swingarm (and MTB frame too), but I have a price point in mind and didn't want to get caught up in a bidding war. As for now, I will just keep the stock Tiara swingarm and see where the project takes me.

    Lost part

^^^That's the part I suspect it to be. I'm thinking that's it. Anyway, to the OP, don't be too concerned about loose parts and being factory-installed; these bikes have several bolts, nuts and connectors that aren't found on a typical road bike. Sometimes things loosen in transit and of...

    V2K Rear Triangle/Swingarm

That's exactly what I am planning. However, I don't have access to a metal lathe. Getting parts custom machined might get to be expensive!

    Lost part

I just checked mine... Mine is loose also. Definitely a consideration for a spot of blue Loctite. I am sure if there are spares available, John or Doug will chime in. You could check http://problemsolversbike.com/ in the meantime. It might take some creativity; I don't even know what this part...

    Parting Out: Tiara Pro

Okay, so it's not a Cruzbike...yet, but I am parting out a Tiara Pro bike. Everything but the frame, pivot, shock and seat clamp is available. If you need something, let me know.

    V2K Rear Triangle/Swingarm

Thanks again. I have a bid on one now. Yes, it will take some fabrication to make it work, but that's part of the fun.

    Wanted: Silvio Front End

With the new design and curved boom coming out, someday...someone will upgrade. When you do, I would like to buy your Silvio front end. Thanks. Andrew

    V2K Rear Triangle/Swingarm

Thanks, Doug... Can you give me a few pointers for searching? "Swingarm" hasn't yielded many results.

    V2K Rear Triangle/Swingarm

I am curious as to whether the V2K rear triangle/swingarm assembly is avaialble separately. I have a donor frame which is aluminum, but the swingarm is a heavy and ugly steel piece. It would be nice to have an all-aluminum frame. Thanks.

    IN STOCK { WAS: CURRENTLY OUT OF STOCK }

Mr. Tolhurst I can understand the rigors of having to test such a refined machine. If you needed a beta tester, why didn't you just ask? ;-)
