    Diatech Headset Adjustment

Indeed I did tighten the white locking bolt. But the tiny set screw (2mm?) is impossible to get at. Even when I thought I had everything tight and clamped without being able to move it still would loosen after a few rides or eventually. Likewise I adjusted my “title”.

    Diatech Headset Adjustment

My non-expert opinions: If your headset bearings and what they roll against are fine (ie. move smoothly not crunchy) then no need to replace them unless you want to upgrade them (truly not necessary with a Q559 as long as they are still working fine). On mine (conversion kit and Qx100) I...

    Child trailer experience and suggestions

Agreed. The company sent me a replacement part at no charge from the uk bike shop it was purchased from to me in Canada without me asking. ! I wouldn’t use it on the cruzbike because of the narrower rear wheel on cruzbikes (since conversion kit? onwards). I also wouldn’t use it on my...

N-1+1=0 can’t have that.. it will mess up the new cruzbike math. Now n+1 can happen properly. :p

    Diatech Headset Adjustment

@Emeljay Can you confirm if my thinking is correct on this topic and questions? 1. The dabomb that you have makes adjusting the headset tension easy, predictable, and without star-fangled-ness. 2. The problem solvers locking headset spacer and the stem clamps both clamp to the fork and...

Big Tube, Classic Yellow, and Rolling Again

If that was me it could be directly translated to "these wheels will sit on the hook/shelf/storage until such time as they NEED to be pressed into service probably hours if not minutes before a commute to work or other well known upcoming event!"

Trade my V20 for your full-suspension mountain bike?

you are in rare company. Not in wanting a mountain bike nor in selling a V, but in doing them both at the same time on this forum.. I think that might be a first.

    Child trailer experience and suggestions

A good trailer rolls nicely and the kids will enjoy it. A poor quality one will be frustrating, may wag back and forth like a dog's tail like my old trailer that I occasionally use for construction materials. The one that I like is Wike (made in Canada - excellent company, excellent products)...

Chain WAXing (yes it's that easy) - and other mysteries of this art!

Here are the supplies that I routinely use: The air conditioner in the background is optional, I usually use the garage floor. The plywood keeps the concrete floor from sucking too much heat. I also use an old sweater to insulate the cooker when it is cooler weather. I used the rice...

@marshall2389 That is a very clear explanation of how the location of the motor in relation to the drive train affects both efficiency and whether it can do regenerative braking.

For #3 when you are touring how do you charge up. Dependent on the accommodations to plug in? How much battery do you need if you are touring- it seems as though you would either need lots to help for long hours ot very little to only help with starting and save weight all other times.

    Cruzbike Time Trial Challenge 2020

Thank you for the explanation. And wow it sounds like you live in a pretty impressive part of the world. I grew up in the mountains in B.C. but now the "Mountain" here is the euphemism for the Niagara escarpment that splits town in half. It is at most 100m elevation - fairly steep but short...

    Sunglasses for old people

Yes, but focus will only be infinite. You won’t be able to adjust to anything closer than 20 feet. Think about the reaction time you will have then. Aw, what the hang, at 110 years old you don’t need to read the speedometer gauge. Just let me know so my 95 year old body can hobble out of the...
