    Mirror for Silvio

I won't deny being kinda weird about keeping crap bolted onto the bike to a minimum. Know that. Mark

I was going to mention that next, provided the other suggestions did not work. It is enough to make your heart pitter patter. Mark

    Mirror for Silvio

I'm not a huge fan of mirrors that mount on the bike. The always seem to be vibrating when I really need to see what's going on. I know a lot of people, myself included, favor the Take-A-Look brand of mirror. It can be mounted directly to eyeglasses, sunglasses, or even a helmet. They are...

    Locking up

I can look past the goofy lock to admire the beauty of a bicycle, if need be. I just prefer my bikes nekkid!  Well, I live in a city, too. Maybe not as large as yours, maybe a little more suburban than citified, but we have tweekers and other opportunists here, as well. I just...

    Locking up

I think it sucks to have to lock a bicycle up to start with. I mean, come on... It's a pretty sad state of affairs in these modern times when you have to protect a simple bicycle in such a manner. I hate locks, period. They weigh a ton and while I'm not a weight weenie by any stretch...

    Argh.

It must be tough, pirating in Alaska! Sorry.... Looking at the Freerider, it appears it takes a different TFT than the normal conversion kit. From the pictures, it appears there is a stub welded to the Freeriders for the stem to mount on. If you got the correct TFT, you should...

Many Faces of the Red Bike

Like HotDog said, there is a setscrew cable tensioner that your cable feeds through. If you notice, backing the screw out tightens the cable and pulls the derailleur inwards. Be careful that you don't back the screw all the way out. If you do, you will have to run it back in, retension the...

    Argh.

Bike shops can be funny. A good one will have mechanics that would jump at the chance to do something different. Many don't want to be bothered with anything other than ordinary tasks. I agree the directions are less than ideal, but between the pictures and the written, I was able to easily...

    Best pump for 100 psi

The Zefal frame pumps used to be considered the best of the best and I supported that notion for a long time. Since I discovered the Road Morph, well, I couldn't tell you for sure where my Zefal is anymore! Seriously, IMHO, there is no debate. Best portable pump ever. Mark

    Best pump for 100 psi

Welcome to the forum! If you are talking about a pump to take on rides, IMHO the Topeak Road Morph totally rocks. Hands down, it's easily the best portable pump I've ever used and I would recommend it to anybody. Floor pumps are floor pumps, but I've had good luck with my Topeak Joe Blow. Mark

I love it! Nice job on the rewrap, though I'm not totally in love with the solid black tape. Like your cable routing, I think John T will approve, too. Great job! Mark

    Climbing Day

Went out with the local bike club and did a more challenging ride today. Nothing super steep for any length of time, but enough to let me try out the gearing a little. The road triple with mountain bike gearing is way overkill. A regular road triple should be more than sufficient for these...

    Taking the plunge...

I was suprised on the BROL board to see this topic get so much interest. I was reluctant to suggest the Power Ranger outfit. Mark
