    Off topic: mechanical doping

Maybe one year they will actually switch to timing chips too, them maybe I'll ride in it! That stopping to punch a card is ridiculous.... :(

SOLD Silvio S30 - $2500 - Sun City West, AZ

NO, but this posting does have a phone number ((623) 974-5963 for Don/Mary) and email that you can reply to. I usually feel pretty good if I can call someone on the phone and talk to them about something they are selling. If they can then give some detailed pictures of the item and send to my...

What I learned building out a pair of 2016 V20 Vendettas

Brakes - one of those necessary "evils" I guess - they slow you down - or are supposed to. (track bikes are nice because the brakes "built" into the cranks!) I hardly ever use mine - I find if I just lay over and slide on my "armor" I can stop much faster! :rolleyes:o_O:p;)

    New owner from Chicago

Helmet - Definitely! - IMHO: You can whack your head against the pavement just as hard going slow as you can going fast - your still falling the same distance vertically no matter what the speed. .. and gloves for sure (full ones if have them). You will automatically put your hands down to...

An hour later, done! Now I can at least ride up and down the driveway.;) Maybe practice my 2 second intervals. They are forecasting near 60 F for next Saturday. Gotta love winter in NC... Of course now the neighbor is made at me because his wife wants him to shovel his driveway too.

    New Vendetta picked up!

Nice bike - so what does your husband ride? Once (if ever) he learns to keep up then you can upgrade to some clip-less pedals. You will find an increase in control if not speed as well. Safe riding!

Tour Down Under (BUPA) Challenge Ride

Nice write up - let's see some pictures! I looked at some of the KOM's for this ride. Some pretty serious pros out there too - turning in times of around 3:25 for the 145K Saw Lars Boom - averaged 378watts for 3 1/2 hours! wow, but still only averaged around 25pmh. He must be a big guy...

This is why I'm training indoor right now.....

Well spoken by someone who works from home! We'll be lucky to get out of our neighborhood by Monday - We live on a private road of a "never" plowed secondary. I'm set up to work from home via VPN (had to on Friday and Saturday) , so probably will on Monday too if I have to. Yeah right - haha...

    Crank length

My Garmin Pedals are configurable with cranks down to 110mm. There are known problems with Q-rings and crank or pedal based power meters - i.e. not reporting exactly the right power - I have confirmed this in testing. It's not much - just a few %, but it is consistent. My X-seam is about 40.5"...

This is why I'm training indoor right now.....

This is my front yard - It has been snowing now for about 2 days. Everything is pretty much closed down around here right now.. Of course I just had to be able to say that I "braved" the 20 degree elements in my biking shorts only - Yes I do have them on. My wife made sure of that - she...

    Crank length

What Joe said. I ride 140mm cranks now and have ridden many successful races and rides with them over the past year. T me it's all about sizing your crank to your leg length so you do not have too severe a knee bend on the back stroke. IMHO - that is what saves your knees all that pain!

I sense a disturbance in the 3rd Law

Yes it would, and of course the lack of air! Man, I hate it when I get all those little bottles of "secret stuff" misS-labeled!
