    My V20 in the wild

That's about normal lots of 1-2mm tweaks; that actually one place long hours on the stationary trainer are good; you can sort those out and sit on the bike with some wrench and just keep tweaking every 15 minutes until it's perfect.

    2016 Calvin's Challenge - who's going??

You clearly need a bob trailer with weight for training. But speaking of that; anyone else find that the bike also drives you into a low cadence; I have to be really conscious to not grab a huge gear and self select a 75 rpm pace; it's just too easy to barrel down the road like that in HR zone 1.

    Slow Ride

Magnet = Myth.... see mythbusters episode. Locally we now have the law that cyclists can treat those as a yield. Almost stop wait for clear; and go. Very big improvement. But I keep that statute printed out and in my saddle bag.

What's on your feet - talking cycle shoes

I wound up with wiggle.com because they had the size I wanted in stock and they had a free shipping sale. I wish we had a dealer in Minneapolis their mid and low end shoes look really good and really good prices; I would like to try some of the mtb and leisure ride shoes. My shoes from last...

What's on your feet - talking cycle shoes

Would this be the foot fetish version of bike porn? DMT's top end R1 road shoe; super comfortable; and less money that mid grade sidi Genius and dominator. M1 is the MTB same design. When I found out I was going to need new shoes to use the P1 pedals I was hesitant to go with the R1 versus the...

    Diet: Vegan Lifestyle

Ok coming back to this one. Lee you did PBP correct? What did the event strategy look like for your fueling? I'm guessing you didn't have room for an Extractor on your V20. Did you mix ahead, source on the fly, did you count nutritions level, or wing it. Just what does the Vegan do when...

Diet: Low Carb and Ultra Cycling

Et al. If you have read this thread the way Lee has paraphrased "sugar is bad" then indeed stop here; and go read the papers Jim linked and go read Primal Endurance. Come back in a week it's a lot to read. But without understanding that info it is very dangerous to try and grok any of this...

    Shine on you crazy diamond

For those that care. At this time it looks like there will be less than 50 more DS-500 taillights made. A batch of 20 released yesterday. there are only 7 left. Yes I always recommend stuff that's expensive. But if you want to be seen day or night from behind or the side, this is the last tail...

    Carbon Fiber Fun

Well next we need to crowd fund Rick a power meter and teach him how to do Chung AeroLab tests; then he can not only design a box that's pretty but also one that makes the bike faster. My guess is that rev 2 was more egg shaped on the trailing edge the drag would be less. But my jaw remains on...

    Shine on you crazy diamond

I did and I can check with them. Just was hoping that the actual manufacturer would test things. It's not like runtime matters with lights or anything. Especially when making the decision about whether to haul two pounds of batteries.... Perhaps the middle supplier is really the better touch...

    Shine on you crazy diamond

Disappointing but not unexpected exchange with support about the performance curves of the Gemini lights. Might have been simpler to say; we mass produce our stuff with a low quality standards in china and can't be bothered to test run times because even if we did product variability would make...

    Flipped by a Vendetta

Graduate of Stetson. 5 years community south to the Kissimimee exit in the never ending heat drove me away. Or maybe it was all the annoying tourists. I was lobbying for FL road repairs and better shoulders about the time the Ben T was in training wheels. Next stop Huston or San Diego and maybe...
