    Recumbent Cycle Con 2016

I actually remember when Performer designed a Cruzbike clone that was really similar to the T50. But it was only ever showed up at one of the bike shows. I cannot remember which one. It looks like the seat mount on the T50 allows for a more rearward position. That, coupled with being laid back...

    Recumbent Cycle Con 2016

That T50 looks really ideal for around town. Some reasonably wide tires, and no suspension needed. Clean and simple. I love it! I would convert the upright bars like some have been doing here. Might even try it with an internal gear hub. Awesome Cruzbike team! :)

How do people safely lock their Cruzbikes?

I eyeball Q's once-in-a-while for commuting and stuff, and wonder how people secure both wheels and frame when there is no triangulated tubing section to put a leg of a u-lock through?

    QX100 Steering Mod

This setup on someone's Vendetta was my favorite bar setup that I've seen. It is actually very similar to how I have my hamster bars on my non-Cruzbike ( :( ) recumbent. I like that it is narrow, has multiple positions, superior mirror position, and the cable routing is pretty hidden.

    QX100 Steering Mod

I don't think they would do a kit, but they really could have something like this as standard in a future iteration, rather than the current setup. It actually provides more positioning options, as well as making a stiffer front end. It is also nice that it gives all the bikes in the lineup a...

    QX100 Steering Mod

For a stiffer setup, maybe you could use a fatter slider tube that would go over the lower tube? Might make finding the right size handlebar clamp difficult though.

    FWDRWS bike

Note the head tube angle. That is what makes this design work. This was this guy's third rear-steer bike, I think. He figured out that having the head tube at a conventional angle is what gave it stability. I'm not sure if he did any more after this one. Here's his first one.

    Rotor UNO groupset

It uses two different hydraulic fluids. Cool tech though.

    QX100 Steering Mod

That looks very nice! Looking forward to further reports. :)

    QX100 Steering Mod

It does improve the ergonomics for a more laid-back position. My instinct would be to move the entire seat back a little further if it can stay at the same angle. Then bring the cranks up a little higher. Of course, that's just my thinking based on what I'm used to. Totally personal preference...

    QX100 Steering Mod

That looks great! Looks like it can be adjusted a lot as well. Anodizing might be best, as you really don't want to add the thickness of paint back onto the tube. Anodizing is essentially a rapid, controlled corrosion process. It gives a hard, durable coating of aluminum oxide that is very...

    Cruzbike Wild Horse Italy

Whoever built that also tried the wheels-on-crank arms idea as well. Watch the video on Youtube, and that one will show up as a related video.

    Cruzbike Wild Horse Italy

That's home made. No problem at all! Pretty clever design.

    QX100 Steering Mod

I have an idea for the handlebar mount, if you don't go the welding route. A very common handlebar clamp size is 31.8mm, and 1.25 inches is 31.75 mm. So maybe you can find a little stubby stem with the 31.8 handlebar clamp and use it "backwards. The part that would normally go over the steering...

    QX100 Steering Mod

This is something that I would be wanting to do if I got a Q. I currently ride my recumbent with a seat angle of about 30 degrees. I just measured the ID of my Performer tiller, and it is only1.125. Bummer! :( That would have been a cool solution, as recumbent tillers are very stout and very...

    A simpler Silvio?

Regards the handlebar riser stalk elimination, I would try and use a fatter tube for the upper slider that can over the lower tube. It'll be stiffer at the headset junction. Maybe an existing recumbent tiller? What is the outside diameter of the tube coming up from the bottom bracket?

Is the Quest available as a frame kit?

Just wondering, as I'm starting to think about a new recumbent, but already have a lot of components sitting around. Curious also if the front dropouts can support the anti twist washers for a Shimano Nexus or Alfine IGH hub?

    TTrike!!!!

Brakes and managing brake forces are problematic for the wheels-on-cranks design. You really don't want your wheel lifting up in the air relative to the bottom bracket when you brake. Kind of like how suspension dives and stink-bugs on a mountain bike.

    Quest frame flex tested

A couple people here have moded their Quests that way. Making the upper tube of the sliding boom the bigger one would also help, as that's where that tube's pivot is. That's why the newer S and V have the fatter tube at the upper end.

Two questions for anyone who owns both a Vendetta and a Silvio

Not a Cruzbiker yet! But a recumbent high-racer rider in Chico. Hope to see you riding!
