Anybody using a disc brake on the front wheel of new V20?

Careful with smaller discs and hydro! They get HOT! There are horror stories of people boiling their hydro fluid because they just did not get enough cooling on the disc. I know some discs have additional cooling fins inboard from the breaking surface. Is the cylinder larger being on the...

Yes the Vendetta is fast...But it's nimble too!

I didn't know that trail was 20 miles! Dang! Might just have to come up from Chico to check it out. Sadly, No Vendetta :( But a recumbent, at least!

    TTrike!!!!

Does it become self-standing if the arms are at 10 and 2? If the crank arms are mounted in a "V" instead of at 180 degrees, it becomes self-standing, I think. There is a picture of such a trike in the article Jim Links to. The idea there is to have the "virtual" axle below the axles of...

Measure the outside...... and subtract the wall thickness? Very likely it does not change.

    Q Hybrid

I would try and use a fatter I would try and use a fatter tube for the upper part, and have it slide over the existing lower (orange) tube. It'd be stiffer. The first thing I thought of using was the tiller from my Performer Agenda Midracer. It already has the handle bar clamp built into it...

    Q Hybrid

Awesome! Congratulations on your sweet mod there! I know several forum members have been thinking of doing this. I'm going to have to start looking at a Quest.

Turning a Quest into a Verdetta

With an outer boom tube and a clamp You could very quickly have this bike! Those 2 parts might be pretty easy to make oneself. I want one too!

The seat of the problem on my new V20

I wonder if an air bladder between hinged panels would work? Might have to much give though. You could have a little bulb beneath the seat to inflate it with.

Ready to build the ultimate Vendetta racing machine

Leverage I always assumed the width of Cruzbike was twofold. Firstly to have the leverage to counteract the pedaling forces (after a while, you don't notice this), and secondly, to get your arms out of the way of your knees. That image is just MTB riser bars cut down and used in a way to...

Ready to build the ultimate Vendetta racing machine

Narrow hamster bars keep your arms in I used to ride cut down flat bars on my Performer. It was very narrow, fast, and sweaty! Vangelo posted this a while back, although some may say getting between the bar ends and brakes is dangerous. For aero, you may not want the bar-ends at all. This...

    Vendetta V20

Curious, but perhaps this is why. The V20 weight seems to be exactly what the bike weighs with the listed components, including some big, chunky pedals! The V2.0 shows a "typical build" weight, BUT, without pedals. Did they average a few? Who knows! It is more than likely that you would...

Could the Quest use the V20/S30 boom?

Not buying anything yet, sorry! I was just thinking about the consolidation of frame parts across the line. I know the Quest and Softrider have some commonality, but the Quest has a the "advantage" of not looking like a converted mountain bike. I find it more asthetically pleasing then the...

Could the Quest use the V20/S30 boom?

Can the geometry be adjusted enough that the cockpit is not overly tight? The seat would need to lay back all the way, I suppose. I realize that the fork and chainstays are also quite different, and would need to change as well.

    Direct drive recumbent.

Check out that bottom bracket headset! Looks like it needs the offset of the crank-arms there to get the front hub in a usable location, and for wheel clearance. The riding position actually looks pretty good, but don't let that tire hit your leg. I like that on a Cruzbike your legs are above...

    Vendetta V20

Those booms are from the pinned build thread, not mine! I still can't afford such a nice bike! Although, living in Chico, I might be tempted to check your bikes out some day, as Redding isn't very far. I bet someone will manage to get it onto a Quest as well. ;)

    Vendetta V20

Optimized boom The boom now has its thicker section at it's pivot, and no cutouts. It probably is stiffer than the original fat one. That, and greater adjustability will make it faster. The outer sleeve of the new boom vs the inner sleeve of the old boom may actually be very similar...

    Silvio seat insert

Very elegant! This would work well on the Vendetta too, for those who want a rigid bike. It has a perfect place for a water bottle! actually, I think water and bags are better under the seat if they are any substantial weight. But this looks really cool, and would keep the aero.

    1000 Miles Later

Did you ride the Wildflower? I live in Chico, and am quite surprised I am one of only a few recumbent riders here. Not a Cruzbike, but a Performer highracer. I did not manage to get on the Wildflower ride this year. I might ask to see your Silvio in person one of these days. ;)
