    V20 rim and tire options?

I like to do unsupported rando style rides. I borrow various 200km permanent routes from various groups, modify them a bit to my liking and have some fun. This means I ask a bit more from my bikes than just going fast. I need tires that handle wet and twisty downhills and then a bit of gravel...

    Weight?

Ha, 30lbs isn't unusual for an aluminum recumbent

    Weight?

If I ordered a stock cruzbike build Vendetta v20 how much would it weigh? I saw some numbers elsewhere I am not sure I believe (too low). I am just curious as I am set on buying one anyway.

Do It Yourself (DIY) cover for Non-Drive wheel

I have some alternate materials in my garage for this kind of work. More fabric stuff. I don't remember the exact material. I will go take a look. I never got started on my wheel disk project. This link from recumbents.com talks about a few methods as well...

    Drivetrain suggestions?

I have a lot of trouble adjusting the cleats on my shoes. So much so that swapping cleats or shoes gives me anxiety. I miss my old shimano mtb shoes they were perfect, now discontinued.

    Incredibly Stable Recumbents

I can point out some Hills on the Eastside that I use for max speed runs. I hit 52 on my raptobike a couple of times. I hit over 40 on my standard commute route. I need to scout the route to make sure those speeds are still safe

I will check it out, I am only 4 years away.

    Drivetrain suggestions?

I have used 165s on my Raptobike and since that is the easiest to obtain short stock size that is the size I am likely to use again. My Raptobike has an FSA Gossamer Crankset (165mm).

Questions re: Silvio from a stickbike/lowracer rider

The nice thing about a WA loop ride is there are points where that loop is close to all of our residences

    New Vendetta V20

Abbot, I had a great time meeting you and going for a ride on the Eastside trails. You mentioned your Tahoe JDRF charity ride coming up on the ride. Do you have the page for that? I wanted to toss some into the kitty.

    Bike Parking at the office

I used to park outside at work. And a few others did as well. Unfortunately that area is now taken over by smokers since it has covering and is 25ft away from any door. I stopped using it after too many times clearing ash off my seat. When I rode my velomobile I parked it with the cars near...

Questions re: Silvio from a stickbike/lowracer rider

I believe you. The extra upper body workout and climbing ability are both features that intrigue me and I hope will help. The picture in my avatar is from the 2nd year of my raptobike ownership and I lost a lot of weight riding that bike. If I get back to commuting then that will make a huge...

    Drivetrain suggestions?

I am using the old bikeforum.net defination of Clydesdale. >200 lbs Given that I spent the most time on my Raptobike and it only has 11 speeds total, I can deal with a wide rear cassette and a compact double. I can get back into shape again, it just takes some commitment. And I can be...

    Drivetrain suggestions?

I am fine with a compact double. Heck I don't even have a front derailleur on my raptobike.

Questions re: Silvio from a stickbike/lowracer rider

I am only 5'7" and 40.5" x-seam but I am over 200 lbs atm. That needs to change.

    Drivetrain suggestions?

Rick, thank you for the comprehensive list. I will probably go for a 165mm crankset and the rest basically Robert's build. Sram Rival sounds great, the wheels are where I may deviate since I am a clydesdale.

    Drivetrain suggestions?

What drivetrain are you all using on your V20s? I am considering SRAM components and want something that will work and not involve a lot of fsck'ng around. I would prefer a triple but can live with a compact double? I am more interested in a clean shifting reliable drivetrain than handling...

Questions re: Silvio from a stickbike/lowracer rider

I am not sure I can commit to tubeless. Flat tires are a fact of life around so much construction and making dealing with a flat harder is in direct opposition to my goals.
