He got the balance within 30 minutes. However , it's becuase I insisted on following a method. It looks like if I had just let him, he would have been off and ridng in 15 minutes!
Anyway, once he was pedalling freely he said ".. Dad, it's just like the other (normal) bicycle .." :D
Back in...
Came across this video of someone trying to ride a USS(Understeat steered) RWD recumbent for the first time. Looks harder than learning an MBB to me :D
I guess it all boils down to individual determination.
If you are willing to change the shifting mechanism then just go ahread and try the dropbars!
I have seen some nice setups in this forum for the older Q models:
(From Thread : https://forum.cruzbike.com/threads/a-trail-quest-or-q650b.11010)
If you have a problem with your back with a rigid more upright position then try the Cruzbike Q45. The seat angle is adjustable and it has rear suspension.
It looks like really good value for money becuase it is a complete bike.
Wow! It's a lot of meticulous work!
You have a lot of tools too! I like the way you shorten the crank length by drilling and threading for the pedals! What is your opinion on oval rings?
Looking at your test ride, it looks like your knees interfere with the handle bars when the turn is...
Interesting! I had actually thought of the same thing, theoritically atleast.
Looking at an S40 frame it looked like by mountng a ribbed carbon seat and slidding it slightly forward one should achieve a lower seat angle probably in the mid thirty degrees.
On Cruzbike's facebook page, a post by Roy Cheong- Singapore:
- inverted bullhorn bars @Ivan_Liew inspired?
- cut steerer ?
- front derailuer stalk 2x Di2 ?
Is it a bird, is it a plane? No, it's a Sssmokin' carrot red S40!
Additionally, according to Robert Holler, and as you may have noticed from the picture above, "let the back end hang down below the front a bit". I think it improves the balance.
I now understand. Totally repect your choice. Thank for sharing.
That 40 deg recline is on the ballpark for a good balance between a natural head/shoulder position and speed. Quite rideable in traffic.
And .. those colors and finish .. wow!
