Advice on Touring with Suspension or Not

...I'd consider using a 650b x 42mm on the rear and use side panniers. I have an S40, but for long rides I prefer the laid-back V20 to reduce recumbutt. Mine: https://forum.cruzbike.com/threads/mathews-bike-tours.11935/ Tor's...

...The Silvio 1.0 and the T50 are both nice for shorter social rides but both have more upright seating which can cause butt discomfort (AKA "recumbutt") on rides over 30 or 40 miles in distance. While the upright seating is great for around town with many stops and cross traffic to deal with...

T50 on YouTube: Spring Equinox 200K

I'm very lucky that I don't have recumbutt issues with the seat position and the stock Cruzbike seat agrees with my body shape. I know for some people 40-50 degrees on the seatback is too high for long distance. I will say that I have to make sure on long rides that I don't sit at traffic...

T50 on YouTube: Spring Equinox 200K

Watched the video, nice work there! How's the seat after 9hrs on it? Any recumbutt issues? I get a mild one on my S40, manageable though. Probably one day I might change the seat when I get some time and see how it feels.

    THE NEW Q IS COMING

...cassette(it had originally come with 11-36, but the new ones are 11-42 I believe), and putting on a Thor seat. I had experienced some recumbutt on the Kansas ride, and wanted to minimize that for my next adventure. In 2019 I rode Coast to Coast from San Diego to St Augustine Florida over 52...

    S30 Unicorn - Houston, TX - $2400

...keeping the S30 or S40. Not an easy decision, but the S30 won. Almost as fast as the V20, and once I put a rear rack on it, almost as friendly as the S40. I also suffered some recumbutt with the S40, with very little on the S30 (which eventually stops altogether), and none ever on the V20.

    Amputee Cruzbike Riders?

...to dial in the seat to find that sweet spot. Unfortunately, the only place to go for me on the S40 is up and then I run into the dreaded recumbutt, been there and done that too. So, as with many things in life, one door closes and another one opens. I know the S40 will find a good home...

S30 - Would you buy one if Cruzbike could do a limited run of s30 in 2021?

I had the recumbutt problem on my Freerider, I installed an 11x12" Gel seat cover on top of the regular seat pad, it resolved the issue at the expense of about 1 lb. But on a bike that already weighed over 40 lbs. not a big deal. Only problem is, that after 13 years, it has worn out, and needs...

How do you get the seatback to lay back so far. I get recumbutt after about an hour of riding and thought getting the seatback lower would help

...part but S40 is 40 degrees & that's the way it is. I enjoy riding the bike as much as do the S2. Just wish I wasn't part of the small percent that gets recumbutt from a more up right position. And again the double up on my cushion has helped tremendously but rather not have it that thick.

S30 - Would you buy one if Cruzbike could do a limited run of s30 in 2021?

getting the weight off the backside through recline is for me is like for you one answer. The other answer is time and acclimation on that bike . You can get used to it and symptoms lesson over time for me. otherwise I have to stop and walk around a few minutes. Which is always okay too. slim...

S30 - Would you buy one if Cruzbike could do a limited run of s30 in 2021?

Not to change the subject but curious as to how to overcome recumbutt on an S40 since this was mention. Best thing I've done & I've tried a lot of different options, is pad the seat area about twice as much as original & that has helped a lot but still can feel it slightly. Even tried longer...

S30 - Would you buy one if Cruzbike could do a limited run of s30 in 2021?

...it simply works. 32mm road tyres at 50 psi are very very comfy. the s40 is cruzbikes best seller so there is that. I would prefer an s40 over the s30 for its lighter weight ,simplicity and real versatility from packing a load to a bunch ride. yeah recumbutt is a deal but it can be...

...the wind. Had seat angle way back, but put it back up to about 45 degrees. Easier to turn head and doesn't need neck rest, but do get recumbutt. I don't have a cushion on the seat part, just on the back rest part. I have been using a Safe Zone helmet mirror and it's actually better than...

...it's the bike I take along on camping trips for casual trail rides. It's no where near the speed demon the V is and it climbs slower than the other 2 and on long rides I notice some recumbutt from the more upright seating and the thin seat cushion but it's a great bike for it's intended purpose.

    Aussie Banter Container

On my Softrider V1, no carbon seat, only the rear single chamber air shock, the ACS-10 seat mesh, fitting disk brakes wheels front and rear (135 mm). It is now used for off road riding on dirt hard packed tracks next to dry creeks, and a bike park, so the 45 deg seat is needed for visibility...

Once you have settled on the best two chamber pressures, you need to let us know for your 120 kg weight! Would the main chamber pressure only, be reduced for a normal 80 kg rider?
