    What if Idid this s40

I've thought about Campy on a CB before. The only detail that hangs me up is the shift lever that sticks out from the side of the lever hood. It would work fine in terms of function, but it might require a lot of hand movements to use that thumb lever. The typical hand position on a CB is the...

Spring Time - Learning To Ride Time

Try to keep a relaxed grip. Eventually, your feet will offer steering inputs rather than being something that you feel that you need to fight against.

V20 for sale in Southern California - SOLD

The 68 mile gravel ride I did yesterday on my Lynskey Ti hardtail was way harder on my body than the 135 mile road ride that I did on my V20 two weeks ago.

I ran these cranks on my Shimano 2 x 11 drivetrain without issue. The bcd is 110 ("compact"), not 130. I used 50/36 rings. These cranks won't come with rings, but that would free you to choose what you want. I'm thinking around $100.00, with me paying for shipping, but there's some wiggle...

    V20 Pivot bolt and clamp

Hmmm... I have never had actual sideways movement. I have noticed a small amount of flex between the clamp and bb shell during hard efforts, but that is different than what you describe. On my S30 and V20, the clamp-to-clamp interface is absolutely flush and free of play. Maybe a picture of...

    New, nervous and CANT WAIT!

I echo @Tulose about the stock seat. I have tried a Thor seat and find the stock seat fits me a bit better. To each his and her own, but I'd put a good bit of mileage and fitment time on the stock set up before switching.

Right. Any of the Hollowtech cranks cannot be shortened, which is why Bikesmith uses Sram cranks. I have a pair of Sram Apex cranks, shortened to 155 by Bikesmiths that I'm not using. Let me know if you're interested.

    Another chainstay question

You have the medium chainstay, which is what comes standard. To my eye, looking at just the one picture, your bb is maybe a little bit low, but not, "oh-jeez-get-that-man-a-large-chainstay" low. If you try the large, you might notice a small improvement in overall aerodynamics, but you might...

    V20 Pivot bolt and clamp

I went through this too--the creaking/clicking sound at this clamp. I initially solved it by sliding super thin mylar washers in between the inside edge of the boom clamp and the outside edge of the steerer tube clamp. The process is a little fussy, but it took care of the noise. Now what I...

V20 for sale in Southern California - SOLD

I recently put a fairly priced S40 up for sale here. It generated some looks and a few questions, but no real action. After a bout a month of that, I put it up on eBay and sold it within the first five-day auction. Yes, eBay did take their cut (nearly $400.00 for my particular sale), but it...

    Just wondering...

I have both my S30 and a V20, and I love each one. The V20 is for going fast, long, and solo, while I use the S30 for more social rides and getting around town (putting a rack on it gave it lots of utility). If you can afford it, keep this bike and build up a V20 too.

    S40 Apex double

That looks like a first generation chainstay (V1), which is fine, but the shape of the fork dropouts and corresponding chainstay socket did change for the V2.0. The socket interface on the V1 was a 90 degree "round peg" fitting into a "round hole," while the V2 (and current V20) mate two...

    Just wondering...

This is basically a S30, the last iteration that had this rear suspension, but a rigid front end. They are sought after here, partly because they split the difference between the V20 and S40, and because only 100 S30s were made (or so I've heard). You could pitch this bike to potential buyers...

    S40 Apex double

Ah, that? No, it probably won't. The tube diameter on the 2.1 boom is larger, meaning that the V20 chainstay clamps won't have enough space between the bb cups and the boom tube. Forgot about that. I put a V20 front end on my 2.1 a few years back, so it has been a while since I've thought...

    Vosadrian's V20 Journey - Australia

My favorite handlebar is the Genetic Digest Flared Drop Bar (weird name, nice bar, with a bend that I like). The 44cm width keeps them narrow enough while the flare keeps hands and shifter blades out of the way of whirring legs. Light weight, reasonably priced at $50.00, but always on...

    S40 Apex double

The 2.1 and V20 chainstays are not quite the same. The dropout ends are the same, but the 2.1 clamps around the bottom bracket cups, while the V20 clamps just inside the cups. Both work, but for the 2.1 chainstay, the bottom bracket cups have to be flat in shape because they act as a clamping...

All I know is that I'm glad I didn't listen to the nay-sayers, most of whom seem to start their remarks with, "I've never ridden a Cruzbike, but it seems to me..." or, "I bought one and rode it for 50 miles, and decided..."

    They stole my Silvio

Hi @paco1961. I have a set of 155mm SRAM Apex cranks (also shortened by Mark) that I am not using. They're in fine shape. Let me know if you're interested. Also I swung a reduced price with Speed and Comfort for two sets of their carbon cranks, sans chainrings (just the arms and spindles)...
