    Recumbent Newbie

Rode about 20 miles on the V20 today and hearing a creak in the front every now and then. Don't want to over tighten anything, just wondering if anyone else has had this issue or maybe not a issue but it bugs me. I am impressed with the handling and speed of the bike. I hate to say it is easier...

Chain WAXing (yes it's that easy) - and other mysteries of this art!

...gear; waxing two chain takes about 30 minutes most of that is melting and heating wax to temperature. You ride the chains until they squeak or creak. If racing I'd have zero issue going 600-800 miles a freshly waxed chain. If the forecast calls for rain consider carrying a tiny tube of...

    Bottom Bracket Suggestions?

...re-tightened, even a light coating of grease on the inside of the clamps themselves, did the same on steerer tube clamp, checked spokes, still creaked. Finally in desperation took things apart enough to tighten down the bolt that goes to the star nut some more. Reassembled, front fork still...

    Bottom Bracket Suggestions?

Hmm, good idea, and it was something I hadn't checked yet, but they all seem tight and they all sing when I pluck them. I don't think it's a spoke. Oooh, that could be it! When I had it on the trainer and was spinning the pedals from the side, it did seem to be coming from that area. And...

    Bottom Bracket Suggestions?

You have a loose spoke. Whenever you can't find a creak and it happens under power; it's always a stupid loose spoke. I have a t-shirt that proves it.

    Bottom Bracket Suggestions?

...Not sure if it feels $200 good, but whatever. I don't really have any regrets, I guess. But here's the kicker - my Silvio still has the creak! I thought it was coming from the bottom bracket, but clearly I was wrong about that because I swapped that out. The cranks and pedals seem...

    Q-ring/front derailleur issue

...aka The Devil Is In The Details For Sure (warning--this is a wordy and boring read but this works, this is THE SECRET) :D: After developing a creak in the front of the V which turned out to be the headset--the bolt that goes into the star nut had gotten a little loose--and fixing it, now...

    Vendetta V20 Build diary 2016

...big pre college toys for the adults. This is also why it's good we don't have a Velomobile sub category or Eric would be putting us all into hurt since he's velo is so awesome it seems to keep him off his Vendetta. Curved boom on S30 creaking

I found the source of the creak. It was coming from the inner boom that leads to the bottom bracket sliding a bit inside of the curved boom. I put a little grease on the inner boom so that it doesn't grab on the outer boom.

    Creak in V20 front triangle

Creak problem resolved. Thanks guys! It was the wheel as Larry suggested. I swapped wheels with my DF and everything is nice and solid on the V. I hadn't notice those wheels creaking last time I rode on them, but I checked with my spoke gauge and sure enough there were loose spokes. I'll...

    Creak in V20 front triangle

...the greenway and around an emply parking lot at the pool. I built them both from framesets. My wife's V was completely solid. Mine had a creak in the front triangle that I'm at a loss to track down. This is what I know: 1) when clamped into the Kurt Kenetic trainer, no creak. This is...

...my front derailleur and got everything tightened up. The only problem I'm having now (aside from riding up so high and close to the stem is the creaking coming from the stem area. With every down stroke I get a "torque creak." I don't know if it's coming from where the handlebar is connect to...

    Silvio assembly - lubrication/grease/

I think they just took it for I think they just took it for granted. You may or may not develop a creak if you don't lubricate the boom/slider. Also, my SRAM bottom bracket installation instructions told me where to lube the bottom bracket. As for the steerer/bearing assembly, I am hearing an...

    Creak solved

Bump Silvio creak I have a two year old Silvio 1.5 which has had what seems to be the same creak as your 1.0 version bike. Since the frame is bolted together with numerous fasteners, I have been using an inch/pound torque wrench to check/tighten the fasteners every month or so. Still had a...
