    Campagnolo Silvio Component bundle

Good point Jon. One day I'll get a Silvio. As others have said on this forum "resistance is futile".

    Campagnolo Silvio Component bundle

Marc (trapdoor2) I'm not sure how well twist grip shifters would work on the type of handlebars which you might use on a Silvio. Would there be a long enough, straight section of tubing to fit the twist grip? As an alternative to brifters have you considered Shimano bar end shifters mounted on...

    WOW.

Mark Now that the off topics part of the forum has gone together with all of the posts, your post count has dropped below 1000 again. ;) Are you expecting another cookie when you pass 1000 posts again? :) Gromit runs off and hides in his kennel.

Ideal donor frame? Stock 700c wheels, low top bar, full susp

Looks interesting but the top bar may still be too high, Julien. I haven't built a conversion myself so if others who have, would like to jump in here then feel free. :) I own a Sofrider V2 but having read a lot a lot of the posts on here, I've noticed that folks seem to say that the most...

hitting thigh on top of v brake?

miles Might be worth getting someone to take a side view picture of you as you ride along. Maybe someone may have a suggestion. For example someone posted a picture of themselves on here and John Tolhurst noticed straightaway that their seat bracket was fitted back to front! :)

Two bag options and mudguards for the Silvio.

John Topeak make some mudguards/fenders similar to the SKS Raceblades. http://www.topeak.com/products/Fenders/DeFenderR1_R2_Set Not sure whether they would fit the Silvio but maybe you could find them over there in Oz and give them a try?

    Crash on a conversion

The Sofrider and Freerider both have the plastic guard between the cassette and spokes fitted as standard. I would now definitely have such a guard fitted during a Silvio build. Thanks for the warning Hikerbiker and I'm sorry that you were hurt.

    Freerider/Xtracycle Mating

One assumes that Atlatl would have tried the Xtracycle/Cruzbike at different suspension spring settings. With the spring fully tightened down wouldn't that be close to locking out the rear suspension?

is the Silvio built for ultra distance ?

All valid points, I wouldn't disagree with any of them. :) Maybe once you have a pair of the new Terracycle Double Century bags you could post about them here Mark. You'll probably have them well before I can afford/justify buying a Silvio to try a rack on.

is the Silvio built for ultra distance ?

With the 'banana' style seat bags would you still be able to use the bottle cage mounting positions on the back of the seat? Perhaps this new mounting system mentioned in the BROL thread would lift the Terracycle Double Century bags high enough to clear the bottle cages? If not then maybe the...

is the Silvio built for ultra distance ?

Mark Thank you for the link. Earlier in the thread you mentioned that some folks have used the Old Man Mountain front racks on the back of their Silvios. Which model? The Sherpa, I guess? I'm not altogether convinced about using panniers on the rack. IMHO a rack bag on the top of the...

is the Silvio built for ultra distance ?

Mark Any chance of a link to the BROL post on the Terracycle Double Century bag modifications for Cruzbikes? :)

Jus' 'cause you got a machine, don't make you no machinist..

Decent job Doug. Though maybe you could make the screws that hold the bracket to the swinging arm, a bit longer and fit locknuts and washers to make sure that nothing works loose?

q-rings work great (except for shifting)

Yes, that might be a better option. I haven't tried the High-Speed-Drive myself. It wasn't available when I bought my trike. I guess that Mark would have to spend some time with a gear calculator to see which would suit him best. http://sheldonbrown.com/gears/ There is a little bit of loss of...

q-rings work great (except for shifting)

Returning to Mark's (jeebus) original problem with the front deraileur and the Q-rings. Maybe the answer would be to fit a Schlumpf Speed-drive? http://www.schlumpf.ch/sd_engl.htm He could remove the Silvio's front deraileur completely and fit just a single Q-ring to the Speed-drive. Switching...

Silvio and I kept Pace with pack during group ride!

Sounds like a really enjoyable ride Harold. I didn't understand what 'NH' meant. So I did some searching around in Google and found out that it is the abbreviation for the state of New Hampshire. The link below might be useful to anyone else on here who like me, doesn't live in the USA...

Re: Start 1 and the pace lap Do I win a prize for spotting that it is Mike Burrows? He had a very short ride on my Sofrider, a couple of weeks ago. Didn't really venture an opinion about the machine. I went over to see him to ask about fitting a Shimano Alfine hub gear to the...

    Carrier possibility for Silvio?

I wonder if the carrier from the Challenge Furai would fit onto the Silvio's seat? http://www.challenge-recumbents.com/html/index.php?taal=en#furai BTW I don't own a Silvio. I wish!
