    New Quest

I don't fold mine either. I used an Allen wrench to tighten the screws while holding the thumb part steady. It stays in place much better now. I still check it occasionally to be sure. I did replace the quick releases on the steering mast with regular bolts, because my leg kept rubbing against...

    Considering shorter cranks advice wanted.

I used 165mm cranks on both my tadpole trikes, as well as on my Silvio 1.5. Seems to work pretty well for me with an x-seam of 40.5". I was glad to see that the QX100 comes with 160mm cranks.

    Boom - QX100

They recommend riding only the FWD-MBB while you're learning how to pilot it, because you're learning such different skills. Once you have it down, you can switch back and forth...but you may not want to!:D I'm pretty sure we have members who ride different types of recumbents as well as their...

    Looking for advice...

Come to think of it, I have a set of pedals with heel slings in my parts box, that came on a trike I bought used. Even if you don't buy my Q451 (thanks, @Charles.Plager :D) I'd be happy to pass them along to you.

    Looking for advice...

Welcome! Clipless pedals are good to have, but not a "must" in most cases. I ride my Silvio with clipless pedals, but my Q451 has pinned platform pedals. There are commercially-produced pedals with heel slings, or you could certainly rig up something suitable.

    Boom - QX100

I knew something was up! Especially since the chirping of crickets was the only response I got. http://cruzbike.com/forum/threads/qx100.8828/

    SRAM 1x

Man, that looks interesting. With a single 42T chainring and that 10-42 cassette, I could get the same gear range I have now with my 50/34 compact double and 12-36 cassette. The jumps in the middle 5 or 6 gears would even be the same as what I have now. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately for...

    Haters going to hate

I've been following your thread over there. The former Cruzbiker who talks about how hard it is to control a CB when the rider is tired...well, I rode with him on a 30-mile group trail ride back in the spring. He couldn't ride a straight line on his Silvio at 10 to 12 mph, when he wasn't tired...

First 200km brevet and new plans...

I ride mostly by myself on country roads, that may have potholes and/or chip-seal, and on rail-trails. I don't race, and I prefer a more upright seat angle. My goals are much more modest that most here; I may attempt my first century in the next year or two. For me, the Silvio was the way to go...

To call, or not to call?

Which is what I actually did. I wasn't about to call an unknown number, that for all I knew could have been part of a "cramming" scam or worse. He replied with information that, IMO, should have been in his original message. It sounded legit, we came to an agreement on the price...and then he...

To call, or not to call?

I received a PM from a forum member, regarding the Q451 I have for sale. Here is the entirety of the message, redacted to remove identifying information: Dear castlerobber, Do still have the Quest available? If yes, please give me a call at (***) ***-**** Thank you o***o The member has never...

    Spam problem

That it does. Reporting the spam and ignoring the spammers is part of my morning routine now. :( The one that gets me is "Brianvoges". Two themed posts per night, regarding either forums in general or "biking" (including motorbikes), with the spam link in the signature instead of the message...

    Elevated Seat ??

On your own? Around here? Fear not. If you search the forums for "foam wedge", you'll find several threads about how to make one. Here are a few: http://cruzbike.com/forum/threads/adjusting-to-different-seat-angles.8464/...
